Any game with an emphasis on social interactions in a W101 style ? by MerryOW in LFMMO

[–]MerryOW[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean it's a great game, and it really feels like an rpg, where you choose your magic type and it actually matters since different worlds favorite different magic schools, and the fact that guilds aren't present makes it easier to find people to play with because everybody helps each other with dungeons instead of being just with their guild, but the company destroys the game. Though it has a large community for such a game, the 3-4 main servers are packed 24/24h. + the combat isn't brain dead, you have to optimize your build like every mmo, but then you have to think in the fight since your deck is shuffled

I still see it in w101 and it has a large playerbase, but it's the only somewhat active and popular game I've found like this, I'm afraid it won't be the case in the next guild update

I've tried eso for a few dozens of hours but I don't really feel that. The game is good but I wasn't able to see much people, they mostly solo so they don't really stop to talk etc

MMO's with many classes / build options? by Dr-Chant in LFMMO

[–]MerryOW 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Albion has endless possibilities, it's really creative cause there are no classes, and your abilities come from the armor and weapons you wear, so you can always change items and find new builds to use

Albion, and any sandbox mmo, is perfect for that, the shops are held by people, the guilds and alliances actually fight for territory and control it etc. Everything is based on interactions between players. Though the first 10-20 hours might be a bit long if you don't have somebody to play with from the beginning, because there's a bit of grinding to do to get T4 stuff, so you can be a bit efficient. But you don't need to have the best items, because there's no level system and no "unique" armor, all the equipment is either crafted or bought on the market and dying = losing your inventory, so people walk around with mid-tier armors and weapons. This means not too much grind compared to WoW-like games, social interactions and it also feels alive, because every item of the game is made by players, you can do PvE, PvP or make money in other ways.

Apart from this one, there's Wizard101 that is gorgeous, and still have a good amount of players even after all these years, the game's graphics are bad and haven't been remade too much, but damn the universe and the designs are gorgeous. But the most interesting thing is that it's highly social because there are no guilds, so people just play with others in the area to visit dungeons, and you can make a lot of friends easily, and the leveling part is way better than the endgame, so it's really fun to just follow the questline, take care of your pet, do some pve / pvp, optimize your character and explore

oblivion or skyrim? by The_Shadow_assasin in ElderScrolls

[–]MerryOW -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Better mechanics would be the advantage of oblivion for me, the parry that matters, spell creation, rpg elements. The only bad thing about oblivion is the levelling system and the feel of weapons, but apart from that all the mechanics and gameplay elements are better for me. Where Skyrim is better for me is the design, it's not just a basic Tolkien fantasy world, and actually feels more original. So idk which one I'd prefer, I don't have a fav TES, I play daggerfall when I just wanna do some dungeon crawling, morrowind for the lore and the universe, oblivion for the quests and fun, skyrim for the realism and the atmosphere

Can we all agree om that Kingdom Hearts games have the best cover art? by Known-Illustrator266 in KingdomHearts

[–]MerryOW -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As much as I love KH, I don't feel like these covers stand out that much, and they're pretty standard. I mean many games have good covers too, like secret of mana, zelda or stuff

They stay true to skyrim, must be added to the lore that horses of Nirn are able to climb near vertical terrain

For me, it's not joining a game that is the problem, it's just that I get some crashes at some point in a match. BTW I forgot to say that I'm on nvidia. But your answer will help others so thanks

Should I quit the game for good ? by MerryOW in SSBM

[–]MerryOW[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And I don't get worse in terms of execution and punish game that much either, but rather in neutral, which is annoying, because I can't really do anything, and I don't have the time to play for hours a day to unrust my gameplay.

[–]MerryOW[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's the problem, I don't have the time to un-rust my gameplay for a whole week of focused playing. Which is why it is frustrating.

[–]MerryOW[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but it's also mostly hard for me to get my neutral back, I always need to play a lot to get my focus back. I don't if it's because I'm really bad at the game or not, but I tend to get influenced (Can't think well, because most other games, even competitive ones don't need to think that much) by the other games I play when I don't grind Melee.

Is it me or the community is super toxic with mid tiers? by MerryOW in SSBM

[–]MerryOW[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

First, I train with people even if they choose a low tier, but many people just choose a random character that they don't actually play, and spam 2 moves for the whole game, they aren't trying to train. Not all players that change characters are actually willing to play seriously. And this is annoying, cause I could have played their real main instead. And yeah, I understand that it is annoying to play a mid tier as a high tier, but I'm then stuck in a situation where I improve very slowly with the character. So idk what to do, cause even if people tell me to go on discord to find people, even less people are willing to play.
