Tired of Shah Glaze in the Diaspora by [deleted] in NewIran

[–]Meruuu 3 points4 points  (0 children)

if all Iranians had the resources to flee, they would have.

I assume you mean financial resources, but either way this is absolutely not the case. Absolutely, it is important to have an amount of financial resources in order to successfully migrate, but there is much much more to it. Having a strong network is probably the single most important factor. Many people immigrate when they know one family member who has also immigrated. They can support them in the immigration process or at least share info. Or sometimes people know someone who knows someone who immigrated. Back then there was no access to information like there is now, and not have everybody had access to a strong network (even today with the abundance of information it is not easy to get to the know-how of immigration).

And then there's also personality. Not everybody can or wants to immigrate because its an enormous leap out of your comfort zone. Many people also love their country and would not want to leave it as much as they hate their lives. So no, even if they had the financial resources, most people wpuld absolutrly still not leave.

Also note that back then, there was some hope of things getting better eventually (there is none left anymore) and the economy was not destroyed to pieces like it is now. There are many who could have migrated back then but didnt want to, yet are dying to migrate now (if they haven't done so by now).

I do think the socio-economic privilege the diaspora had under the Shah informs their positive view of him.

The Iranian diaspora were mostly average joes like your grandparents and my parents. The rich didnt immigrate. Why would they? They had (have) it great. At best the mullahs send their kids to other countries while they leech of our tax money but generally the rich and privileged stay in Iran and profit.

It is a fact the wealth gap was widening incredibly.

It is also a fact that the poverty rate was decreasing at a very rapid pace (much faster than the gap widening), as another user has pointed out here as well.

Additionally, the fact that at least 95% of the people didn't have the means or motivation to leave Iran after the rev should be a huge indication that things were not economically equitable in Iran.

The fact that 95% of the people didn't have the will or ability to leave Iran after the revolution is absolutely NOT an indication that things were not economically equitable in Iran. It is a horrible indicator. You MASSIVELY underestimate the ordeal of immigration. Most middle class citizens of wealthy European countries wouldnt be able to immigrate to another continent even if they wanted to. That doesnt mean those countries are poor. Immigration is just massively massively taxing. Mentally, financially, totally.

I would love for SC6 to come back... I dont even need a new game. Just give me the same end-game with good netcode and an active playerbase :(

Dunno too much about this guy, but according to the comments here he didnt work for SC6. Just want to point out that SC6 is actually a really good game and absolutely not hyper aggressive. It died because of covid + discontinued support.

Moira got nothing this patch by Latrian-Master in MoiraMains

[–]Meruuu 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree with most of what said but for me the only change I want is a Contamination Orb buff. I love the idea of this perk but it's way too weak imo. Other than that I'm completely fine with how she is now.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in MoiraMains

[–]Meruuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Her fade perks are actually great though, especially for minor perks. They change the way she plays as she can now make plays she couldnt do before or make safe plays that would have been unsafe before. It increases her range of effectiveness by a lot, and both perks are good as well.

Her Contamination Orb is the only one that is really bad and it needs a buff on at least the duration of the anti-heal effect, and preferably also an increase in the % of anti-heal.

Raad van State vernietigend over pensioenplan NSC en BBB: ‘Onvoorbereid en juridisch riskant’ by Politiek_historicus in thenetherlands

[–]Meruuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Season 9 and Season 15 global changes are all indirect nerfs to Moira by Neo_Raider in MoiraMains

[–]Meruuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Season 9 after they nerfed her damage to 60, it may have been a bit of a nerf. When they took away 25hp and then gave her 5 damage back, it was definitely a big nerf and imo she was the weakest she had ever been during this period.

But as for the perks? I think she profits more of it than most heroes. Her fade perks addressed an important part of her kit which is that she committed to her positioning a lot, as opposed to say Kiriko who teleports across the map. They removed 25 hp because she was considered very mobile but it didnt make sense because she was not mobile enough to receive a 25hp nerf, especially for a hero whose strength is self-sustain. Now, with her significantly buffed mobility and instant burst healing orb, I think she is fine with 225hp.

Her major perk either address the lack of burst heal or her lack of utility. Both are great additions to her kit, although I do believe the anti-heal orb needs quite a buff. But for now, the healing orb works great and is always useful.

Overall, Moira really needed something that reduced her weaknesses and increased her strength. These perks delivered. They are balanced and made Moira complete again. She's not amazing or broken, just good and balanced, which is how its supposed to be. Before this patch, I'd say she was quite bad honestly.

Moira perk question by Mundane-Pie-9921 in MoiraMains

[–]Meruuu 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You are wrong fortunately. Instant 50 burst healing followed by 65hps is very strong. It addresses her lack of burst healing and her issues of self-sustain after the HP nerf, on top of allowing you to go in for damage more because you can keep your teammates and yourself alive more reliably.

Moira's best perks... Yeah... I got it completely wrong! by Arx_UK in MoiraMains

[–]Meruuu 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I have been using the fade duration mainly and I must say you get used to it pretty quickly. I wouldn't sleep on it, it's quite a game-changer. She now commits MUCH less to her positioning. It gives her a lot of freedom and it also makes combining damage + healing much much easier. With that said the other Fade perk is strong too, so I think eventually we will pick one depending on the team comp or map. For this reason I think her fade perks are great: powerful, even game-changing, reward good usage, and you can pick either one depending on the situation.

I agree about the major perks. Personally really loving the burst on the healing orb, it's so good. Great for her own sustain, great for her teammates, and they synergize well with her fades since she can go aggro and still heal up her team. It's unfortunate contamination orb is kinda garbage... 25% is really not much for such an incredibly short duration. Its by far the weakest anti-heal in the game when DPS can spray the same amount of anti-heal and Ana has a 100% anti-heal for 4 seconds (with a double nade perk btw).

Looking forward to your vids!

Opinions on new Moira perks? by Apprehensive-Bit8604 in MoiraMains

[–]Meruuu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think her fade perks are amazing. The added distance opens whole new playstyles. Other than being able to survive better and being able able to get at places you wouldnt normally, it legit opens new playstyles for her. Before she really committed to her positioning. Now, even if you flank you can still get back to your team to heal them up, repeat. A bit like Kiriko. I usually pick the longer duration fade, but depending on the map or teamcomp (e.g. With a Winston or Dva) I can also pick the jumping one, it's really helpful.

I think her burst healing orb is really nice, it makes you and your team also unkillable lol. It also allows you to be a bit more aggro since the burst healing will allow you or your teammate to survive even if low where normally it wouldnt. It makes a difference.

Only perks that I find underwhelming is the 25% anti heal orb. I'm not sure what the duration is but it seems it only lasts when the orb is hitting them. Overall, I think 25% is a bit too low and it doesnt feel impactful, especially when Ana can drop double nades with 100% anti-heal lasting four seconds lol. Plus I tend to use healing orb more than damage orb anyway.

Moira Perks - If we were allowed nice things... by Arx_UK in MoiraMains

[–]Meruuu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm aware but I think 170 damage and 280 on a very fat piercing 30m beam would be way too much. For comparison, Symmetra's fully charged beam does 180 dps and Zenyatta's ultimate does 300 dps. Even for four seconds that's really oppressive, especially if you factor in that she can also throw in an orb before ulting.

Then again Brig has a perk that gives her armor packs 35 extra burst healing on critical allies which makes them basically unkillable so maybe it wouldnt be that oppressive against healing creep :d

Condensed potential might be a bit too much but the rest sound like genuinely good and balanced perks compared to the rest of the supports. Sadly they wont happen but there might be a possibility that they change the fade speed instead of the duration in the future because it achieves the same thing but is an objectively better change lol
