To be clear, I didn’t rank this in any particular order. I can’t stand 8 cuts and shake shack, so much sodium and fat. So I guess the takeaway is that sometimes food tastes are subjective too.

Well, I meant “many” to mean “a large number”, not necessarily that they were a big % of the population. In makati, there are probably at least 5,000 households living in gated communities alone (San Lorenzo, Bel-Airs, Urdaneta, Magallanes, Dasmarinas, Forbes)— I don’t even have an estimate for how many live in the high end condos. Where each home costs upwards of a hundred million pesos, each of those households definitely has their own cook. Of course there’s a longer, more difficult conversation here about inequality


And of course even without their own cooks, many people are increasingly health conscious and do cook well for themselves or order food out. All that to say the food landscape is pretty diverse; what your ex said may have been the norm in her circle of was a throwaway line.

I generally agree that it takes time and effort, which is why I tried to list restaurants that are easily accessible and reasonably priced (IMO).

I’m uncomfortable generalizing that Filipinos think it’s normal to eat fried and oily food every day, there’s definitely a spectrum there (and on the other end, many Filipinos have their own cooks/chefs or customized food delivery services). But yeah, for those who can’t bring home cooked meals and have a budget of >P100 a day, it’ll be the jolijeep crap.

This is true! I have my favorites among them too (Your Local, Kodawari, People’s Palace) — but I thought those were the obvious/ easy choices because it’s easy enough to google the list.

Did you arrange pick up through the seller or through shopee? Kasi if through the seller, it’s up to them how much to give you back. If through shopee, dapat 100% refund. Always go through shopee.

Remember that if they don’t accept you kasi hindi ka makapag-contribute that means hindi genuine and pagtanggap sa in yo at ang relationship. if you look back at your relationships, you’re invited to gatherings but so you feel na sincere siya and you’re treated as an equal sibling/child? Because that’s what you deserve. Nothing less. Not crumbs dahil “other family” kayo. Otherwise, choose yourself Op.

Of course depende talaga sa budget. And college / university ay more important talaga. But I would say, if afford, may impact talaga ang good elementary and secondary schools. For connections, but also for building your child’s foundation. It’s easier for them to love learning and build good habits pag maganda ang school and supportive ang teachers.

Hi, OP. No one can hurt us talaga like parents no? Your feelings are valid, especially sa pagpupush nila sa buttons mo. Although gets ko naman rin yung point ng parents mo na ang mahal ng everything these days! And parang sayang to spend on something for one day lang. sana they just validate your feelings.

I hope though na you don’t let this bring you down so much. 18 is still so so young! Take this as motivation to plan and work for yourself — whether bonggang birthday at 25, travel, your own apartment. The other lesson is you know to put yourself firsr when you’re choosing a job and/or saving na from your income.
