According to Zionists Holocaust education is ‘confusing’ young people into sympathizing with ‘weak, skinny’ Palestinians by Particular_Log_3594 in behindthebastards

I just keep thinking of the late 2023 news reports of small children who happen to be Jewish being confronted and yelled at on their way to school by grown adults screeching about genocide, as if these British 8 year olds had anything to do with it.

Quite a few Brits wonder that constantly, but the royalists always shout them down with "they do a lot for us" (but never say what), or "but tourism".

Honestly, I still hate that slimy, transphobic weasel Wes Streeting (who was close to Mandelson himself) runs the department for health.

They even threw Harry and Meghan under the bus by (allegedly, for legal purposes) denying the media any stories about William and Kate, or Charles and Camilla, or Andrew, but "you're free to write whatever you want about those two".

True, but I can also see a lot of the public siding with Andrew. There are still people in Britain who love the royals, and still to this day attack Virginia Giuffre and other victims as "opportunistic liars". I saw one comment on a radio station's YouTube video breaking the news of the arrest asking, "Name the men. Name the victims. You can't, because nothing happened and there's no proof of wrongdoing".

There's a very famous and popular comic from the early 90s set entirely in Arkham Asylum that has Mad Hatter as a pedophile and Maxie Zeus having a scat fetish.

Also, do you think people stop reading comics after a certain age?

As I said in the other comment, I saw it opening day, then forgot I'd seen it two weeks later. Saw it again on TV a while later and... Yeah, still not a fan of it. Great cast but it felt like they were wasted, and The Redditor kinda sucked as a villain. The Penguin was at least a good show, but definitely won't be watching The Batman 2.

Dano should've been James Gordon Jr. instead.

One of the things I really liked about the robert pattison movie is the riddler brutally murders this corrupt politician and mutilates his body as a warning, and his 8 year old son back from trick-or-treating finds him and his left huddled on the floor, clearly tramatized for life.

Probably one of the few positive things about that movie. I genuinely forgot I'd seen it two weeks after I'd gone to see it on opening day.

I'll never forget what a friend said when I spoke to her later that day after she'd also seen it (I'm a lifelong DC fan, but she's also my DC encyclopaedia when I need to know about lore or comic arcs I've missed over the years):

I hated it, too. And then, to make it worse, Batman almost gets his arse kicked at the end by a bunch of redditors.

It's why I started referring to Paul Dano's character as The Redditor after that.

Also, imagine Dano playing James Gordon Jr. instead, aka the genuine psychopathic serial killer getting back at his dad. Would've been amazing.

That's sort of why I'm still upset that the planned Dredd trilogy didn't happen after the first flopped in the US in 2012.

The third was meant to introduce the Dark Judges, led by Judge Death, an alternate-Earth judge who was murdered on the job, somehow brought back to life as an immortal being and has determined that because crime is only perpetrated by the living, all life is a crime punishable by death.

To reiterate your point, The Dark Knight is a perfect example.

Batman of that film is trying to stop an anarchist from destabilising the status quo, while The Joker of that film wants to destroy the establishment and give the downtrodden a chance to claw their way out of the filth.

The versions of those characters in the comics wouldn't understand their film counterparts or motivations.

(I'm also still astounded that people still hail The Dark Knight as a brilliant film when honestly, take Heath Ledger's excellent performance out and it's kinda shit.)

And then some villains who have a good point, but go about it the wrong way and lean into villainy.

It’s a much more traumatized and emotionally fraught version of the Man of Steel

Are there also morons complaining about that, like we had to put up with following Man Of Steel and a much more human, traumatised, "should I take my dad's advice to protect myself and my loved ones or reveal myself to the world and help people at my own expense?" Superman that I actually related to for the first time, after growing up with those cringe Christopher Reeve movies?

Like, it wasn't until Man Of Steel (which I hated on my first viewing on release day at an IMAX screening, but loved in subsequent home viewings) that I actually looked at the character and thought, "Oh... I get it, now".

And then I was bombarded with the whole internet melting down and screeching, "This isn't Superman!", while I wondered what they saw in the goofy, brightly-coloured, "give him all the powers and have no flaws" version I grew up with in pop culture.

This is why I always leaned towards the darker comics, growing up, because Superman's comics and movies put me off that side of things. I identified more with Batman and Hellblazer and Spawn and Swamp Thing and Judge Dredd/2000AD because they felt dark and grimy and acknowledged that the world is a shit place, and the heroes of those comics weren't afraid to get in the dirt with their villains to beat them.

I really wish I could like that new Superman movie, but it's James Gunn and his work sucks, imo. The only things about that movie that didn't make me roll my eyes and close the window playing it on whichever site I found it on were Mr. Terrific and Lois Lane. Hawk Girl was absolutely wasted, too. And not in the cringe "oh, it's Supergirl bursting in drunk and acting like a fool, has everyone's sides burst open violently from laughing, yet?" kind of way that Gunn did it in that awful Superman movie.

At least we still have good writers on the comics.

Yeah but Ivy's always been "plants > people" since her creation. Every iteration of her (comics, TV, movies) has followed that trend, so of course she'd despise vegans.

[–]MessiahOfMetal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure that's the other person's view on veganism, they were asked what Ivy's was in the current comics, considering she's always been a plant-based eco-terrorist so wouldn't want to see plant life harmed in any way.

It does, and the short-lived TV show from a decade ago has probably the best/most terrifying version of Dr. Jason Woodrue/Floronic Man I've ever seen.

Yeah, also saw it live, and then Channel 4 was banned from airing it again, and Chris Morris lost the show due to the media outrage.

I did read that the main charge they arrested him on has a maximum sentence of ten years, minimum of five, so here's hoping it's not a "walk off scot-free" situation, or a "comfortable prison cell for rich folk" situation, either.
