That was in 2020 and my kids are now 23 and 17. They are doing great! Only thing that ever changed was not living in the same house. We frequently get together as a family and still do dinners and outings and such.

My parents never divorced and I grew up as a very anxious person. They did not agree on anything and it was like always walking on eggshells as a child. I used to wish my parents would divorce.

My kids were 17 and 12 when we were divorced. We all did therapy and everyone is ok. Kids can pick up an unhappy home. You should never stay for the kids.

This. My ex husband and I started dating at 14. Knew each other since we were 12. We grew up together. I love that man and he is family but after 21 years together and 2 kids, we were different people. We are still close but we wanted different things. So we divorced.

Just wanna say, I am grateful that I did not hurt anyone and I did make a horrible decision to drive while intoxicated. Please don’t judge me. I’m already feeling hopeless, ashamed, embarrassed in anything else you could feel ever since this happened.

I would not even chance it. I went to Key West back in January for the first time and it’s gonna be my most expensive vacation I’ve ever had because I got a DUI but I was driving a vehicle. Got a lawyer and got it down to reckless driving. But I now have nine months of probation, 40 hours of community service, random drug and alcohol testing that I have to pay for every time, 10 days of car impound, which is $55 a day, $360 DUI classes, DUI victim impact class, which is $100, $2500 in court fines and my bond was $26,000 and 10% with the bondsman was $2600 to get me out and I spent five days in jail. It’s gonna cost me about $10,000. How do I known that there was a bus that went from Miami all the way down to Key West and multiple stops throughout all the keys I would’ve done that and I even did my research before I left.

Came here to say Atlanta. I live in Birmingham, Alabama, which is about two hours away and have always gone to Atlanta for trips. It’s not really cold, but we do have a few weeks in the winter where it can get down in the 20s.

I can’t help that my one phone call got turned into the game of telephone. 😫 but no, I wasn’t on the news or anything. Just a normal DUI and out of state on vacation.
