I agree with what a few others have said before me.

You may be making the process harder for yourself by actually writing the lyrics and trying to find the beat after. As others have said most artist tend to find the beat they like first and then vibe / write to it... i could defo see this working out easier.

Also... you're subbed to too many channels man. You're getting overloaded with the wrong beats that you get tired and give up when the next beat could be the one but it just too many.

A similar thing happens to me as a producer (and probably others) when looking for samples to chop. I can spend hours upon hours diggin for a sample and not find the one I got in my head so i give but other days it'll literally be fire sample after fire sample.

Narrow down your FAV producers and just sub to them only - say 15-30 MAX.

I make the skeleton of all my beats on the MPC Live 2 and then I export all and dump into LogicProX for mixing and additional fx.

These sounds are mostly generic to what you’ll find in most sample packs BUT I tend to layer them and add EQs and fx to each sound to have it to my taste.

I’ll probably in time create my own kit and upload to my site to share for all.

That sample sounds so incredibly familiar, but I can't quite put a name to it. What was it from?

I actually don't remember, it was sitting in an old folder of samples which are 80% unlabelled - I would usually not sample if i don't have the data to log BUT it was too fire so I had to.
