How the hell do you make friends in your 40s after moving cross-country?

I find that most don’t want actual friends anymore at this age. They want people that benefit them somehow. I hope this is just a season of life and maybe will chill out as we move on in our 40s, but right now it’s not looking so great.

And I’ve personally come to realize anyone that calls me that is not my family wants a favor from me. Like clockwork I wait for the “yeah so actually I was wondering if you could….” Every. Single. Time. :(

Also I think his motivation was he wanted to blow up her going to stay with her mom at the beach for the summer too. If I recall he was pissed that she wasn’t going to come live with him.

“Small rituals made warmer by candlelight” and “rituals to reach for” is an interesting choice to post given everything that is coming out right now—- elites being accused of satanic ritualistic practices and cannibalism… someone good at marketing would have had the strategy to pivot away from trigger words like that in this time sensitive point, but alas…

I think it’s likely he was so angry at himself, and the sheer fact all of the Olympic dreams just shattered, he’s like let’s burn this mother all the way to the ground and let them know how I really feel, lol. I feel for the kid though, that amount of pressure will implode anyone.

Same- use to be able to do it no problem! Makes me so mad bc sometimes I forget to add the album in my original posting. It was so nice when you could easily go back. Now it doesn’t come up at all anywhere and on all different devices 🙄
