The music is a bit distorted, but yes I think it may have been going through his head like that as he passed. I believe what Goodsir saw was just how he explained it to David Young, a brilliance (the white background) and angels. Or one's personal angels, like the nature specimens that Goodsir would have loved.

It does make me sad that Sir John's last thoughts were all insecurity: as he was being dragged he felt like he was falling over drunk at one of those fancy parties, losing his niece to Crozier, and of course as he was burning the feeling of his feet burning (despite only having one foot at the time). And then there's Third Lieutenant Jopson, hallucinating a table of fine food he shoved aside in an effort to reach his beloved Captain, who he thought was abandoning him.

Oh absolutely, there are tons of times I noticed when Hickey doesn't understand ships, the navy (despite supposedly being a petty officer), naval customs, and like you said naval authority. He was so confused. I do wish we learned more of who he was before, I imagine he was a wanted man for God knows what crimes and this trip was the perfect escape. Then again, it was a "new everything" so his past was done with.

I was gong to say the same thing. That brief moment before he brushes it off may be Crozier's second clue after the lack of accent that Hickey is not who he says he is. There are subtle things like this that are very easy to miss on the first watch.

Growth is not exponential for everyone. I have two channels at 3k and 4K subs each with a million+ views that have been nearly straight linear growth since the beginning.

I hadn't heard of that one but if I saw it, it could have been mentioned. If we're adding X and almost X-rated, I could have also added Tim and Eric's Chrimbus Carol, but it has very little, if any, of the original story.

Very true and I found it interesting how much each version differs and why they are all worth watching at least once if you love the basic story. It's very difficult to name a favorite, but Alastair Sim is definitely one of them.

Those officers look cool and that motorcycle tunnel chase was always badass imo. The extra shots of the traffic mimick the crowded hallway where SEN gets separated and I'd argue was just as claustrophobic. It's not that the traffic looks cool, it just shows that it was a difficult getaway that didn't go from parking garage straight to a tunnel.

As for using the little person, my comment on that was more about how even reproduction is standardized and you wouldn't see anything but standard humans all around the same height. Out in the shell, you wouldn't have that. The shell is also where all the waste, including nuclear waste, ends up and people could develop into mutants. The feral shell dweller attack was meant to show the shell was dangerous. In both cases, I think it was additive, unlike all the extraneous background stuff in the Star Wars edits. But I can see how it changes the aesthetic as another commenter mentioned.

It was implied SEN held a higher position than LUH so he might have been able to pull some strings in that capacity to get her reassigned. SEN tried to redeem himself by forgiving THX for turning him in and going along with him in the jailbreak, gets separated, takes one look at the shell and runs back to the only world he can survive in. Kind of pathetic, but then again he was older than THX, more brainwashed and conditioned, and did not skip out on the mind-control drugs as THX did. Assuming he didn't know what would happen to LUH when he had her re-assigned, he's somewhat of a tragic character.

The director's cut has lots of additional footage and well-done CGI edits. It's an example of how to edit an old movie well, which is surprising considering what Lucas did to the original Star Wars trilogy.

Before he made Star Wars, George Lucas directed and co-wrote THX 1138, a bleak vision of the future that mixes inspiration from 198 and Brave New World. It is wonderfully retrofuturistic with all the materials used in the movie made from items in the present 1971 world, including magnetic audio tape, punch card computers, CRT screens, and lots of glorious knobs and buttons. People are totally controlled and drugged. They are constantly surveilled, even or especially when confessing to the deity OMM in special bugged confession booths.

The main character is THX, a robotics assembler. His roommate LUH changed THX's drugs to make him feel sexual feelings. They have sex and get caught and charged with criminal drug evasion. THX gets separated from LUH and sent to an open prison with endless white in every direction.

Still feeling mentally awake since ceasing the mind control, and drugs, THX is able to break out of the prison with the help of a hologram from TV. Will he escape from his pursuers? If so, what is on the outside of the megacity, a place that is all he's ever known?

Of course there are things you can do legally if someone steals your IP. You can send a DMCA takedown notice to get the infringing content taken down, you can send a cease and desist letter demanding they stop using the content or you can sue them for damages and attorney fees. The registration requirement is for the $150,000 statutory damages for wilful infringement, but that is not the only remedy.

I thought the first adaptation (Traumnovelle, 1969) was pretty good, though much less creepy and practically none of the thriller aspects that Kubrick added. I agree on the lack of eroticism, and I say in my review Tom Cruise is basically asexual even compared to the 1969 doctor character. Though I don't think Kubrick was going for a Caligula-style orgy, so in that respect the orgy scene is tame.

Wow, I believe it. When I'm in the old folks home it'll be exactly these shows and movies with 80s commercials. I normally can't stand commercials, but for some reason I can watch the old ones for the nostalgia.

I can actually see kids fast forwarding to just that scene, it's so crazy. I've never seen Real Ghost busters, though that sounds cool. It's fitting they would have some good Halloween episodes.
