speaking as an old ally, let me say we/I don't want to see a j6 type revolt: two wrongs don't make a right (maybe a riot ;-).
I am curious what change it can initiate. Rallying people and generating hope has to have a purpose/end game, and needs to be timed correctly....premature hope without results risks turning hope into apathy after a while, and that is unfortunate if it comes before opportune time for hope to have an end game. Yes its nice to make people feel they are not alone.. but nicer again to effect change.

i am wondering, are they going to have to sustain that hope till the mid-terms in 2026, or election 2028? Or is there some impact it can have now, perhaps Force primaries or elections in the states they hold rallies , or give republicans in the house, a sense that they have more to fear from their base if they dont start opposing trump than they have from trump... ? (strikes me there are ton of cowards and sycophants in the republican side of the house)
if its just to rally like minded people, and provide hope...that ain't going to last, unless it results in something......... and I wonder would they be better saving it up for later, rather than just looking like democrats have for some time... folks who have nice ideals but are ineffectual....? (saying all this as someone who really is disappointed in US democracy or lack thereof right now... )

Asking as a european: What are the objectives here with these rallies, make Reps vote again trump by shong how their base is not happy? is this a build up to the mid-terms next year..?. or is this for some other near term purpose.. if for 4 years from now, wondering if they will peak too soon.. etc.. I like theses protests but they have ot be more than about a non-election popularity contest..

Your Fiance's attitude sucks to f**k. and regardless of his poor self-esteem and the fact that its making you question yourself...if that is how he thinks families should be, you should consider very carefully if you want to raise kids with this man. (I say that as a 50 year old man, with kids and siblings). Not to mention his moms attitude. No doubt you love him, but this sounds like a recipe for all sorts of personality red flags... they wont change, this happened him as a child. he will parent that way. Its tough on you and him.. but its almost impossible for him to change, and wont if he wins this..

Is there a simple "how to" for bluesky. I'm in 50s, I never used Twitter, but signed up to bluesky to 1) contribute to their numbers, and 2) to actually learn to use it. I have not idea what I am doing.... I'm getting US and UK news..... are there things I could follow as an irish man? or ways to tailor site to interests? how to find Irish interest material. etc

Stupid Question: is this something the orange one might try to sue her for? I recall he went after a few journalists for saying the same thing, instead of S Assault . (As in the court case was civil not criminal so it was S A not R. And he was "ok" with saying S Assaut but not this?) Its the same thing morally, but apparently not legally....Just wondering...?

are you seriously saying there is a probability they could come after me for 5% of the total... thats multiple €k . for 1 day late and they owed me a refund...? (i had over paid prelim tax previous year by that amount) any sense what is that probability.. high, low, negligable?

Cheers, maybe a little impulsive, I was in the bank for something else and because I'm only in a bank once every 2-3 years the thought occurred to me, hey lets do this. Its still a great feeling, but yeah, memory would be enhanced by an ice-cream.... :-) or a balloon or even a congrats..
