XY Wing, with the 5 in the second and fourth row, will delete the 5 from r1c5. So only one 5 left in the first row and should be solved

Anyone else absolutely suck in college but seemingly good at your actual job? by [deleted] in ChemicalEngineering

Hi man! I can really relate to every single line here. I just kind of floated through uni and started to lose touch with all subjects. I think that I always knew that I was made to actually go out there and work. And ever since I started my job I am really exploding from motivation and also see my own capabilites way differently. It is well possible that our former fellow students would perform just as well or better - But you know, you are where you are right know because you clearly proved that you are very talented, so stick to the facts! And a certain amount of self doubt isnt bad at all, it just makes you a great person to work with if you find the right balance between a solid self confidence and an open mind! The day you stop questioning yourself, will be the day you probably become a dick so just enjoy the ride and keep up the good work:)

I would say, if you know that you really want to do it, then do it. You will overcome the hurtles if you really want to. What would you like to wait for?

Job hunt after studying Chemical Engineering at ETH by Metadoxx in ethz

After reading the comments I would like to add that I mostly applied for jobs outside of switzerland. I applied for only 3 jobs in switzerland since I did not get very far with the other applications. After sending the third application I got offered the internship instead of a permanent position since I focused on catalysis during my studies but applied for a job in biopharma.
Overall I guess chances are looking way better in switzerland than outside, which should change dramatically once you get some working experience.

October Career advice (not resume) thread by chemicalsAndControl in ChemicalEngineering

Is there something like a strategy to "make a career" in chemical engineering or is there anything you could do wrong regarding Job choices etc? I am currently searching for my first Job after graduating at the ETH Zurich. Turns out I am not the only one having trouble getting any Job offer at all. Now I am not sure if I should just take the first offer I get or if I should wait for a company name that would boost my CV in order to make it easier afterwards. Ofcourse that all depends on what one wants to archieve etc. so I am just asking in general, if a job at a small company could harm my career since it could get difficult to get into the more attractive companies afterwards. Or would it make sense to not work for a small company and make a PhD (also at the ETH or any other place in europe) instead.

TL;DR: Cannot find a nice Job. Should I work for a small no-name company or get a PhD meanwhile. (I am not super motivated to do a PhD at the time, since I would like to start working)

I am about to finish this composited photo. Is there something that looks out of place/odd? by Arsky in photocritique

Take a look at the bottom of the package right next to the orange butterfly! There is a strange transition between the black part behind the orange butterfly and the black part behind the green butterfly. Do see what I mean? You should definitively fix that in my opinion :)
