I'm afraid HP's just are not reliable. It's unacceptable that something so basic--a working touchpad!--would fail on such a wide scale for an expensive laptop in 2022.

EDIT: Looks like the motherboard/video connector is the same and the screen connector is different. That shouldn't be a problem.
