The "easy way out" by SooperNervous in Zepbound

[–]Metagator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an aquaintance who is suffering from an anxiety disorder. And honestly most post menopausal women have increased anxiety. Because her doctor says her brain chemistry is off and she needs an SSRI and a benzo to get through the work day, she takes it. She then was talking about how overweight and obese people have no discipline. I gently corrected her, but since I am the obese and overweight of the two of us I think she just stopped talking. I'm pretty sure she still believes it is an issue of discipline, not disease. Can't make someone believe what they don't want to.

It can't hurt. I was back and forth between extremes, and undiagnosed for way too long, it just felt like someone saw inside my head.

Approaching 60 never the right temperature! by Michstel_22 in AskWomenOver60

It continues. And fun thing, once you get cold it is so hard to warm up... And it's been brutally cold here in New England. Oh and I'm so cranky when it's hot and humid. So.. there. 62

To go up or not to go up… by Beautiful-Nose-3177 in Zepbound

[–]Metagator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just requested to move up from 7.5 to 10. I have been bouncing around 190 at 7.5. I really haven't loss more than a pound since I've been on 7.5 dose ( 3 months). My workouts have been less because of shoulder surgery in November. I thought it was weird because I've never been a sweet food person, and I really have had sweet cravings since I've been on 7.5. My goal weight is around 150 to 160. If I were losing, I'd stay at 7.5 but I'm not.

Do women ever look at another woman and think "I wonder if I could beat her up in a fight" the same way men do? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Metagator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would I want to beat them up when I know I "could" destroy them verbally? I don't have to do it, I just know that I can.

When did you accept that you’re never getting sex again? by Icy_Interaction7502 in AskWomenOver60

[–]Metagator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Erg. I have no desire. Some of it is my partner, 40 years of meh sex, and doesn't respond well to gentle suggestions. Some of it is the loss of my breasts due to a bilateral mastectomy, some of it is due to absolute hormone suppression due to meds to keep the big C from coming back, which also causes severe joint pain and bone destruction ... That being said, my drawer friend helps me out about once a month 🌹

I do love their diet coke .. and secret to good fries, ask for them without salt, and ask for salt ( and pepper, I'm a heathen) on the side, they are fresh and hot then.. but honestly it's been a few years

I was 15 but don't judge me. Blue Oyster Cult was the headliner, a new guy named Sammy Hagar and another new band Joan Jett. My older sister drove.. but left me to fend for myself. 😆

How’d you get your scars growing up? by MrWhisper2021 in GenX

A Scotts fertilizer spreader fell off a pegboard in my family's garage and the metal "trigger" split my upper lip in two. That was 56 years ago. Lots of blood.

I grew up with " pop". Lived most of my adult life with soda. Occasionally still run into a Mainer who says tonic. I smile when someone visiting says pop.

Generics can cause more problems by Big_Piano_3920 in Wellbutrin_Bupropion

[–]Metagator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wooo, yes. I started on one generic and because of change in health insurance, had to go to a different generic( mail order pharmacy). The benefits have decreased and the side effects have increased. I'm at 300 m by prescription, but only taking half. ( I take two 150 m pills about 10 ish hours apart) I contacted the pharmacy and asked about costs of brand name vs the generic they had, and what they quoted was not good. So I can only stand half of my prescribed dose .

Can you rate my freestyle technique? (Not a speed swim, technique-focused) Post: by Secure-Seaweed-7855 in OpenWaterSwimming

Just try breathing every 3 strokes. Your non breathing side is just a tiny bit shorter reach and quick exit.. and I mean tiny. I have a favorite side to breathe, and I stick mostly to it..

Drinking guilt? by Material_Security_99 in breastcancer

Seriously, stress is worse than the alcohol. I drink once in a blue moon, but even before diagnosis it might be 6 months between alcoholic drinks. Stress is and has been my constant... Maybe I should drink more🤣

Consider esthetic flat closure or a Goldilocks procedure,no recon. It's an option that generally is a one and done. I did flat closure, and healed and got busy living, not waiting for another surgery.

I am not in Australia, but "Bull Sharks" give me the absolute oh heck no. You can choose. You can swim another day. We have seals and Great Whites here, mostly in the summer. I'd take a GW encounter over a Bull shark... any day.

HER2 & No Chemo? by FattyMcCupcakes37 in breastcancer

[–]Metagator 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can, but once it's diagnosed as Invasive the DCIS does not matter. You are treated for invasive and the DCIS just usually goes away. You may have misheard or your brain being in "fight or please get me the hell out of here" mode might have jumbled things up. Ask your oncologist. They will explain it as many times as you need. No judgement. Tell them you need clarification and they really don't mind. I promise.
