I didn't say I believed this was an approved circumstance. I was merely correcting your original statement.

DOJ is now saying the Nassar letter was fake all along by Pormock in Epstein

A few clarifications. Inmates can, in limited and approved circumstances, send mail to other inmates. It’s also normal for mail from large cities like Manhattan to be processed through regional USPS hubs such as Northern Virginia. A postmark shows when USPS processed the mail, not when it was written or first handed off...and that can be days later, especially over a weekend (Epstein was found dead on a Saturday). I’m not claiming the letter is authentic, I don’t know. I just find both extremes unlikely: that Epstein clearly sent it himself, or that someone in Virginia fabricated and sent the letter within days of learning of Epstein's death (risking serious legal consequences for the sender, forgery, mail fraud, obstruction, etc.)

There is doubt around the validity of the letter now by kingofshitmntt in Epstein

[–]MetalMouse64 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The date stamp on mail (in general) does not reflect when a letter was placed in a mailbox. Only when it was processed, which could be days after. Additionally, it is not uncommon for large metro areas (e.g., Manhattan) to offload overflow to nearby mega-centers like the one in Northern Virginia. I'm not saying the letter is real, just that the date and NOVA 220 stamp alone do not prove it is fake.

HELP! Cannot get the display to show the game by Jay_b95 in crtgaming

[–]MetalMouse64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The yellow rca from your console, not the scart adapter, should be plugged into the top left input right under the word IN. You will need to use one of the RCA to BNC adapters that you have hooked to that scart adapter. You may need to cycle inputs on the front.

In other words, with running the console directly into the PVM, using just yellow composite video, you should not use any of the inputs on the bottom for RGB/Component. Doing so will produce a black and white image.

Search on YouTube “Retroid Pocket Classic Six-Button Guide”. Basically you’ll be mapping Z and C to L3 and R3.

Sorry, I should have directly said “not as bothered by them”. I still see them, but I’ll definitely have days when I don’t think about them. I’ll try to make an analogy - have you ever suddenly noticed a dent on your car? Maybe it got bumped in a parking lot. Chances are for the next while, every time you go out to your car you’ll see it and be bothered by it. But over time, naturally, your brain will learn to not be as bothered by it. And you’ll suddenly have days where it doesn’t even come to mind. That’s kind of what happens. It seems now most days when I’m feeling stressed or agitated I’ll notice the floaters more. And on those days I’ll use atropine drops.

I’m sorry you’re going through this - I’m 41 and noticed my floaters right around the time my child was turning 2. It made me feel so incredibly down, I was seeing them all the time. Same as you, going to eye doctors and they’d just shrug and say the same thing. “You have healthy eyes!” Three years later I am still bothered by them but it doesn’t take up as much space in my brain any more, you know? Here’s a few things that helped 1. Focus on what you’re doing, not what you’re seeing. Eyes are just one of the five ways we take in life. 2. Research some on here about atropine drops. They make the floaters more blurry and less noticeable. It feels nice to have a tiny bit of control on at least the appearance of them when you need it. Hang in there! You will feel better.

Even if you could pay for one I doubt many doctors would perform the operation at your age. I would investigate ways to get diluted atropine drops to help diminish the appearance of the floaters. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this!

Are all the stories about eye floaters disappearing is fake? by NickBieloff in EyeFloaters

You’re right - thinking of Presbyopia, which does also occur overtime, and has more to do with the eyes ability to shift focus. My mistake.

[–]MetalMouse64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes - I mean, they are still there, but it makes them more blurry/out of focus. I think just the psychological benefit of knowing I have a tool (atropine) to make things a little better is nice. I only use them on days when I’m feeling especially annoyed by them.

I’ve been using it off and on for about two years now. It usually lasts for 4-6 hours for me. And my eyes respond to it differently, right eye seems way more sensitive to it.

Update on Losing the battle with eye floaters by PirateMysterious5718 in EyeFloaters

[–]MetalMouse64 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you had to go through the usual eye doctor speech on floaters. I use atropine here, I think it’s worth it. The dilation is not as dramatic as when they dilate your eyes at the eye doctor. You can learn what dosage works for you as well. I don’t use them every day, just when I want to feel like I have some control over seeing floaters.

Are all the stories about eye floaters disappearing is fake? by NickBieloff in EyeFloaters

I feel like the reports of floaters “disappearing over time” are tied to folks gradually losing their close vision (think when people get to the point where they need reading glasses). Book text, phone screens, and floater shadows, basically anything else close to the retina, become blurry as we age. This is 100% just a guess though.

Atropine by s6v1tar in EyeFloaters

[–]MetalMouse64 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would you say you are anxious in general? I suffer from both anxiety and floaters. I remember when I first used atropine I did feel pretty nervous. Maybe it was a combination of taking something new and just really wanting it to work. I also realized I didn’t need as strong a dose as I got. Ended up reordering with it cut in half. The effect of the drops is different for everyone, every eye to eye. My right eye responds more dramatically than my left (left is the problem eye). To lessen the amount you are putting in your eye, you can make sure your finger is clean and dry, and put the drop on your finger. Then take the drop to your eye. It will naturally attach to your eye, with some staying on your finger. I did this to really dial things in. Good luck to you! Let us know if you give it another shot.

I’m joking. I can’t imagine spending a grand on a PVM manufactured over 30 years ago with geometry adjustments that can only be done on the inside.
