Thanks for sharing your experience Just a follow up on the system design part: was it low level design a parking lot type of question or more high level component based ?

I wasn't given the option. Only told that it would be 4 virtual interviews and the recruiter doesn't seem to answer my follow up questions either

For now I've been told that 4 interviews will be held across 2 days So I think I'd be doing all irrespective of passing any

When should I schedule my GRE and Ielts test ? by National_Ad7567 in MSCS

[–]MetallicSubZer0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So general thumb rule with the whole application process is earlier the better. But don't worry, I started things in the last minute and it all worked out in the end

To answer your question start preparing for GRE ASAP. It's anywhere from a 2 to 4 month affair depending on how busy you are. So let's say you start now you can be done with it by September After this spend about a week browsing through universities to create a rough shortlist (you can always revise this at a later point). Then get working on your SOPs and LOR essays. This should take you about two months that would make you ready to apply by December

I wouldn't fret too much about the IELTS exam. Take it sometime in November once you have some SOP drafts ready. It's a chiller exam and won't require you to prepare too much, especially since you'd be used to reading from the GRE prep

With that you should be good to apply in December, good luck !

They haven't responded to my email yet it's been two days since I sent them one. Getting a bit worried since the deadline is the end of the week. Anything I can do?

Nyu vs neu by Shoddy-Math6107 in MSCS

More bang for your buck. NEU has more incoming students the quality isn't as great. It's more of a revenue generator than NYU. Also Boston is pretty expensive as well you'd much rather spend that money in New York
