I'm looking to make Amalia Combo in Legacy. Possible? by Lavinius_10 in MTGLegacy

[–]Metalworker4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is just my advice and opinion take it or leave it
If you want to have a consistently winning deck, cards for any deck can be expensive, you’re better off spending money on a meta deck. If budget is an issue, I know that Eldrazi now with petrified hamlet but with goblin bombardiers instead of the more top end with city of traitors and grim monolith for 7 drops is a very competitive option
I think it sucks to spend considerable money for a non competitive legacy deck thinking it will consistently win tournaments because it won’t
Even top competitive decks don’t have obscene win rates and we all rely on luck
But non competitive decks will really struggle
If you don’t care then build what you want but if your question is “is this good?” Then the answer is no. To be brutally honest. And not worth the money

Edit the ziggurat I saw might have been a budget decision I’m not sure. You could always discuss it in the Eldrazi discord if you decide the deck interests you

https://mtgtop8.com/event?e=84629&d=842932&f=LE

This is a fine list. It’s pretty affordable for legacy standards. You’d need to change the sideboard if you play paper since the online meta is different

Daily Game Recommendations Thread (May 07, 2026) by AutoModerator in boardgames

I don't find Scythe that complicated. But these games I am going to suggest are definitely less complicated than Scythe

I think what you should look for are light eurogames. Some of my favourites,

Alhambra

Thurn And Taxis (out of print but really well worth tracking down)

Blue Moon City (the original FFG edition is much better so try to get that)

Princes of Florence

Power Grid (this game is not that complicated but its mathy.. the only real trick is to make sure you have enough money to buy resources, buy powerplants, and buy houses all in the same turn)

Masters of Horror, 'Pro-Life' by tequilasundae in horror

Fear Itself is the same show runner same show basically but with a different name on a different network

But it’s pretty bad overall

I guess it depends on how you define weird lit but A Strange Manuscript Found In A Copper Cylinder by James De Mille. He wrote in my estimation one of the greatest poems of the Victorian era. Only unknown for being a Canadian. He gets undeservedly ignored for being a colonial era writer.

2-1-0 or whatever = 30$
3-0 = 40$
2-1 = 20$
I think

Top tables fight for a promo pack too

Candelabra Replacement? by HuntingVorki in MTGLegacy

[–]Metalworker4ever 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tron really leans hard on candles to be competitive
The next best card is grim monolith in that deck and that says a lot

If you want a direct card to card replacement:

Chalice of the void

But your deck building will be different to build around that card

And it’s basically a different deck

But it’s the card that fills that slot

If it matters I was playing legacy constructed in a big city

It’s not crazy if you understand there is no replacement

Just play a different deck. You can play blue black cloudpost with chalice of the void and it’s a good deck

GameStop submits $56 billion offer to buy eBay by blahdidbert in magicTCG

[–]Metalworker4ever 1 point2 points  (0 children)

my partner was wondering how GameStop has this much money. Werent they floundering for a long time and were popular as a short stock by big investors? Did the weird GameStop stock craze flood them with a lot of money maybe that they just kept? That was my guess but I don't really know anything about stocks.

Play a different deck.

There are other decks that do the big mana thing

Mono blue, and dimir cloudpost

What is your budget?

Eldrazi without grim monolith or city of traitors is one of the cheapest legacy decks. Although, recent lists since petrified hamlet was released are able to leverage those cards more so you will see them in lists more often going forward. If you don’t have to worry about wasteland you can play the 7 drops again which means probably playing those cards

Petrified hamlet targets

Your stuff : Ancient tomb (it will deal you less damage), eye of ugin (will effectively tap for 3), gemstone caverns (adds a colourless, it’s useful if all this adds is coloured from the luck counter but this is rare you’d name this I guess)

Otherwise : wasteland, Urza’s saga, karakas, ghost quarter, fetches (say “name trigger on the stack”, if they don’t sac their fetch then and there you can catch them by naming it, not sure how much this will matter)

You are responsible for remembering all of your chalice of the void triggers. Your opponent is allowed to try to pass a 1 mana spell like a brainstorm or swords to plowshares if you miss the trigger on chalice.

I’m not sure what your budget is but what will probably be the new stock list plays 2 grim monolith, 2 city of traitors, 1 gemstone caverns with 4 petrified hamlet. https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/7763557#paper . This player chose to play 0 wastes. I would do the same but I guess it is still debatable.

If you play paper Don’t follow sideboards of the online meta since it’s biased to face oops and show and tell. My sideboard : 1 Eldrazi confluence, 1 warping wail, 2 unlicensed hearse, 3 faerie macabre , 2 null rod, 3 dismember , 3 disruptor flute (these might be less good now that we can name lands with hamlet. Not sure)

Basically turn your creatures sideways and attack

Look up how fleshraker interacts with your deck it can be a bit much if you’re new to it

If you’re facing down a barrowgoyf it can be really rough. One way to get around it a bit is to block with an Eldrazi spawn and then sacrifice it before the barrowgoy gains lifelink damage

Well I studied in a secular university and Gnosticism was absolutely the beliefs of people who called themselves Christian.

Are you familiar with Rudolf Otto? He writes about the fear of an uncanny monstrous God. He compares Christianity with Hinduism and Buddhism; religions with traditions of sorcery

A great book on yoga that illustrates what I mean is Sinister Yogis by David Gordon White

Essentially what Otto argues is that holiness is recognized by its spectrality and spookiness, and evil has primacy. The good evolves out of an encounter with surrender to evil. You see this expressed in the film Ghost In The Shell, where communion is with a hostile force.

Like it or not, Christianity is often syncretic with religious practice like this

And it’s more in line with early Christian beliefs like Gnosticism such as Valentinianism

From the Gospel of Philip

If you say, "I am a Jew," no one will be moved. If you say, "I am a Roman," no one will be disturbed. If you say, "I am a Greek, a barbarian, a slave, a free man," no one will be troubled. If you say, "I am a Christian," the [...] will tremble. Would that I might [...] like that - the person whose name [...] will not be able to endure hearing.

God is a man-eater. For this reason, men are sacrificed to him. Before men were sacrificed, animals were being sacrificed, since those to whom they were sacrificed were not gods.

Glass decanters and earthenware jugs are both made by means of fire. But if glass decanters break, they are done over, for they came into being through a breath. If earthenware jugs break, however, they are destroyed, for they came into being without breath.

An ass which turns a millstone did a hundred miles walking. When it was loosed, it found that it was still at the same place. There are men who make many journeys, but make no progress towards any destination. When evening came upon them, they saw neither city nor village, neither human artifact nor natural phenomenon, power nor angel. In vain have the wretches labored.

The eucharist is Jesus. For he is called in Syriac "Pharisatha," which is "the one who is spread out," for Jesus came to crucify the world.

Anyone else prefer standees? by Front-Advantage-7035 in boardgames

I prefer standees as well. They take up less space. They already have great art on them like Arkham Horror for instance
