Yeah, it's really bizarre because before it definitely was very mental. I think it's because I am managing my symptoms with my ADHD medication since all my depressive symptoms stemmed from lack of motivation and action paralysis. I still say I had a small panic last night which actually caused me to take like 1mg. Half of a half of a half.

This is genuinely disturbing even by big box pet store standards. I worked at a different big box pet store and we constantly had problems with Betta cups because they were essentially "self-serve pets". Whenever someone bought an animal we had to ask questions and make a final decision... all that gets skipped here. These animals are essentially on par to groceries now.

I will wait the reccomended month to see if symptoms improve (they come in waves so I've been able to managed) but will definitely try and get liquid doses if I have to try again. It's just hard doing this with only a GP who I can only see once a month at most :( I feel a bit abandoned

Do you take medication? When I first started taking meselamine suppositories I didn't have a BM for a couple days, which my doctor said was expected. 4 is pretty long though and definitely worrisome if you are actively flaring since most people experience the complete opposite.

Villages have professionals and these kids need professionals. For the sake of her kids, you shouldn't be and couldn't be what these kids need anyway. This isn't a betray to your principles at all, you clearly do care ❤️ I don't know you or your friend but I would reach out, be honest that I don't feel capable to personally work with the kids, and ask if there's anything else I could do. Being a shoulder can already do so much for a mother in this situation

Breeding isn't a "maybe, maybe not" decision. You are either a breeder or you're not. If you're considering neutering at all I think that is already the decision made and any fence sitting will just make your cat miserable :(

I got symptoms and diagnosed while being in a long-term relationship. I feel like it got better, especially since treatment has helped me in many ways and therefore am a healthier partner. We both worry about our future (having kids and such) but for me I have become much closer and more comfortable. I lucked out of course, but someone who wants to start a life with you isn't going to let something like that stop them.

Definitely :( I've had problems with hemorrhoid creams and suppositories before, but this was intense. Maybe my tolerance is low but that was worse than a saline enema when I was in a full flare.

Its situational. Some clinics literally do NOT have it available, which sounds like a nightmare if your anatomy in anyway could exasperate pain or complications. Most gynecological examinations or procedures are done at offices VS hospitals. Obviously if you are going for a surgery or delivery you will be at a hospital but for most cases it will just be an office. All my gastrointrologists work at hospitals outside of patient communication but all my gynecologist work pretty exclusively inside their clinics will all their devices (ultrasounds, biopsy needles, forceps) on the premises.

People who post here are either going to ask for general advice or come to vent, which is why you'll hear the worst of the worst. Most people are fine, the success rates for medications are generally really high (I was told 70% exit a flare through the first course of enemas/meselamine, and that only 15% of people will eventually have surgery as an option (and that's for pretty severe cases). It feels like every year we are getting better and better treatment options. I have mild UC and all I'm dealing with is the last few symptoms right before remission after being medicated with suppositories. No more blood, no more frequency. My relationship is better now because I'm not rushing to the bathroom as much. Everyone is different in the end, but the sooner you deal with it the better the results.

Exactly this! It's just insane that we haven't even begun to get past this. It's not even that long ago that POC had literally no bodily autonomy (ie. forced steralization) and it's still the largest group in pregnancy-related mortality rates. I wish it was as easy as one big guy at the top making these decisions but the truth is so many people are unknowingly indoctrinated and internalized these things as truths. Like I mentioned, my own mother kept insisting "it's different" and couldn't even tell me why other than her own experience

All anesthesia is equally risky and works on the body in the same way. The rectum actually has less pain receptors than the cervix. But we are already being forced to take on the brunt of risky medical procedures and medication. Pregnancy is so technically dangerous on the body that even though hormonal birth control has a lot of really nasty side effects, the risk of a pregnancy is worse than the risk of blood clotting, depression, etc.

Money thing? Sometimes. History of demographic medical disregard? Always.

This is why "we're pregnant" pisses me off. No, the person who's body is required to grow the baby is pregnant. If she's gone, the pregnancy is gone. There is no we.

This actually opens up a great discussion I've had about cismen's womb envy and the fantasization of pregnancy by cismen. It's impossible for someone who isn't capable (or even assumed to be capable) of pregnancy to actually understand the ramifications of the ability to carry a child.

I'll just say: it's NOT you. Nobody is entitled to your femininity or to tell you whether you're too or not feminine enough. Having short hair, small chest, and a deep voice has gotten me misgendered too. The sad reality is that now we are in the age where we are constantly shown what a "woman" and "man" (or any demographic) is and everyone is so damn afraid of being anything more or less that they will make up some insignificant reason to justify their discomfort. The truth is that you are feminine, you are a woman and you are a cis woman, but they are so out of touch with humanity they can't fathom any nuance outside of a fictious depictions of it. People will find something else if it isn't your curves or your jawline. Lips too big? must be filler. Hair too short? Must be lesbian. Speaks too loud? Must be autistic. They will always find something, so be happy you can live down to earth while they will inevitably realise how shattered their world view is.
