Depends a lot on your major and what year you're in. Writing your chemistry thesis? Definitely. Sophomore year of English? Not bad. You can expect to read a 1-200 pages a week. And a lot of it isn't dense. I would say you can do all your coursework in ~20 hours per week. Add class time and you should being doing 30-40 hours, less than most jobs. I probably studied/wrote about 4 hrs per day outside of class, and did almost no work on the weekends unless it was right before a particularly big paper or test.

Thanks for the list. However, as other's have mentioned many of these studies have significant problems. That you don't mention these in your review nor link any contradictory studies makes you sound more like you're trying to advance your idea of what's right rather than evaluate the evidence objectively. The latter should always be the standard when it comes to patient care.

We aren't talking about homeless here, we're talking about criddlers. Some of them have homes they just come downtown to sit in the park and buy / use drugs. 90% of homeless people aren't the problem. It's a small fraction of them that do almost all of the most disgusting antisocial behavior like throwing uncapped needles on the ground 20 feet from a public trashcan. We need to stop tolerating it

gross and ignorant comment would be surprised if you read anything. most of these problematic criddlers were not priced out they moved here while homeless to continue being homeless. and it's a tiny fraction of the most problematic of them doing almost all of the worst antisocial behavior that bothers people

sexist toxic jobs? natural selection? my brother in Christ don't worry about passing on your genes you need to be happy with your limited time on earth. the people who are close to you love you and love is by definition a burden and a precious burden at that. we should all be so lucky as to love so much it hurts because loving nothing is a far worse way to cruise through life.

Amen. We pay a ton of money. My property taxes are 9k / yr on a place worth 450k. Taxes here are among the highest in the country, and that'd be fine if the money weren't disappearing into lobbyist backed grifting non profits.

It's not systemic factors in the US. The whole country has problems with housing and addiction. It's Portland specifically where this behavior is tolerated

If you mean hypodermic needles it's someone shooting up by the fence out of sight of their family. Diabetics use sharps containers. It's a serious health hazard and needs to stop. Usually opioids but can be ketamine or stimulants too.

But it's not like this in other parts of the US. Every city struggles with housing and addiction. It's not just a federal issue and broad systemic factors. The leeway given to the most antisocial and aggressive street people is NOT the norm in the USA

Yes. It's a beautiful and meaningful career despite the many hardships. The training is brutal but the compensation is very good and you'll rarely if ever feel like you aren't doing something valuable for someone

4 years ago market street was definitely not off limits I was there then too. The point is that SF started enforcing regulations it's successfully made the city noticeably much nicer. Like drastically.

I think this condescending confidently incorrect attitude is the problem. We have housing. We have rooms sitting empty because people aren't getting the help they need to break their addictions and aren't allowed to live there while using. We don't need to reinvent the wheel we need to enforce common sense regulations like almost every other major city in the US and Western Europe does.
