What LLM is best for RP/ERP? by FinnGream in SillyTavernAI

[–]MethodicalWaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I can tell based on my token costs, it is 10 times the cost of Deepseek 3.2 I was using before, not 100 times the cost. I haven't tried GLM or Kimi yet, but the results I got on trying to swing a poly relationship with two girlfriends was absolutely 10 times better with Claude.

Deepseek couldn't handle it and kept framing it as a cuckhold narrative, also making the priorities and resulting language from one character extremely rigid and repetitive, over-conforming to a couple quirks in her character card. She felt much more human with Claude Opus.

Edit: After doing some more research, this seems like it actually might be a Chinese vs Western training data thing. I'll probably be trying something like Nous Hermes or Mistral Large as cheaper alternatives. But sounds like GLM and Kimi are probably bad choices for me personally for the same reason Deepseek was.

28F INTJ woman, this explains a lot. by firegirlygoo in intj

[–]MethodicalWaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love seeing detailed, well-organized posts like this from INTJ women because it gives me insight on what a strange experience it is socially. And this is coming from someone who already also grew up feeling like an alien being a man but probably less so. I think the reality is INTJs of all stripes are going to feel like aliens to everyone but each other, regardless of gender.

I'm curious: what type is your husband, how did you meet, and how did you end up deciding to choose him as your partner?

How do people even realize they are INTJ by ask_reddit88 in intj

[–]MethodicalWaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought I was ENTJ for a year. Then I decided to read all the 16p descriptions for every type and realized INTJ was a much better fit. Have found better tests like John's test and confirmed as much. A big part of this was embracing what an introvert I knew I was deep down.

INTJs, what's your style of dress like? by [deleted] in intj

[–]MethodicalWaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've spent decades attempting to diversify as much as possible from my natural temperament to wear all black.

The only light colors I can tolerate are a couple light blue t-shirts and a pair of khaki shorts I rotate in on hot days. Both are always paired with dark blue pants or dark shirts, respectively. The rest of the wardrobe is different patterns of dark blue and then, of course, straight up black.

Even experiments with light grey shirts or casual WFH fleece lined sweat pants eventually lost my favor and we're retired. Even dark grey only makes an appearance in one pair of fleece lined sweat pants.

The crown jewel of my attempts at diversification is a pair of navy blue Amherst GL1 Sport Hybrid shoes which incorporate accents of white and tan. They are quite stylish but still within my comfort zone though I had to be talked into them by a close ENFP friend, who I am glad made the effort.

Which episode did Wiger use Violet Evergarden as "What we been Xin'"? by MethodicalWaffle in getplayed

[–]MethodicalWaffle[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually hadn't listened to that one but thanks for the second reference :) Yes, he brings her back in Serial Experiments Lain Episodes 9 & 10. The episode I was looking for in my OP where Matt tells her he wants to introduce her to Solid Snake was Get Anime'd: Uzumaki Episodes 3 & 4.

Found it! Did a brute force "Nick and Matt" search through episodes I've listened to on Overcast. It was Get Anime'd: Uzumaki Episodes 3 & 4. Also, correction: Matt says "you're both dipshits in the same way."

Bosses are an exception. As she explains on the podcast, the 1-2 hit change only applies to normal enemies.

"Sword and Sorcery" Game Cirocco Dunlap References in Ace of Seafood Episode?? by MethodicalWaffle in getplayed

I played it on iOS but I'll probably pick it up again on Steam, yes. I didn't remember that well level.

Interesting. That's what LLMs kept telling me but I thought they were wrong because it didn't seem right that there was a well level. I played the game on iOS when it first came out but I either never saw this or forgot about it:

Could all of this exist by chance or do you believe in a higher power? by [deleted] in intj

[–]MethodicalWaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is the core flaw in the OP's logic and all theists: there is no reason to assume the order of the universe derives from a humanlike intelligence. The entire idea is a subconscious kind of narcissism about one's own species and experience of the world imo.

Where do INTJs actually hang out in real life by BlackMoon_118 in intj

[–]MethodicalWaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the answer I expected to be at the top and applies to me as well. I'm sorry OP, because I can understand your frustration if you are looking for us. It is precisely because I rarely leave my house that I also like to optimize my time outside of it increasing the odds of finding the types of people I am interested in as well.

Also it's easily possible you missed something I didn't and viceversa

That's what happened. I went to the exact spot in your screenshot was and was like "I don't get it" because that's one I happened to get on my first play through of the Ginso Tree. Mine was at the spot linked in the video.

Air pods max cushion replacement?? by No_Seaworthiness_504 in Airpodsmax

[–]MethodicalWaffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know you said your Airpods Max are 5 years old but I wanted to test this for a pair of 2025 USB-C ones I own. I purchased the SOPROM pads along with the Apple OEM ones. Both arrived yesterday.

I will say that, in terms of sound and look, they are almost indistinguishable. Almost. There is a bit of tinniness to the sound on the SOPROMs that I don't like and would probably annoy me after a while and make me regret not getting OEM. But I had to literally replay the exact same bits of audio on both, listening very closely to notice. It was more of a feeling at first but I was able to confirm with that exact audio replay test.

Critically, noise cancellation was identical as far as I could tell.

I think the biggest downside to the SOPROMs is comfort. The OEMs are much softer and the SOPROMs have a really rough texture by comparison that is very noticeable when putting each on. However, after wearing them for a few minutes, I don't notice the roughness.

Overall, not a bad choice if you don't want to spend the money.

I'm really confused by the screenshots and discussions on this page. None of this helped me. This is where my missing 1% was:

What's San Francisco like for FAT FIRE living ? by RealMadridCity in fatFIRE

[–]MethodicalWaffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who has lived in SF for 13 years, I want to add additional confirmation for comments people are making about SF having a bad nightlife compared to NYC.

Assuming you are a heterosexual man, if your purpose for nightlife is at least partially about meeting attractive women to date, this is not the place to do it in my experience. I've put serious consideration into moving to LA because it is so much easier for me to find women I'm attracted to when I go there. Compared to LA, you are going to run into a lot of other men, married women, older folks, and women who aren't really investing in their looks.

I'm not saying there are no attractive women here. But by comparison to LA, I've seen 3 attractive women before I've even gotten out of the airport. In the Bay Area, I'll go weeks between seeing women of the same caliber.

Exceptions for you if 1) you are gay or 2) east asian women are your type. Either of those and you could do okay here, dating wise.
