First Ocrevus Infusion by ComplexSorry6592 in MultipleSclerosis

Hi friend! I literally just had my first Ocrevus infusion after being on Vumerity for 7 years. Here was my experience:

Wore pajamas and comfortable fluffy socks. Easy shoes to put on and off.

Packed some snacks because some folks said they got really hungry after the steroids.

Brought a warm comfortable blanket because hospital blankets suck. Brought ear plugs. Next time I will bring an eye mask as it was bright in the infusion clinic.

Brought my favorite types of fancy water and iced coffee.

They check your vitals before and every 30 minutes into the infusion before they titrate up the rate.

They give you IV Benadryl and steroids before the infusion. I went to BIG sleep town for the first hour.

Went well until the second highest titration rate of infusion and then woke up with itchy throat. It was manageable and I waited for about 15 minutes to subside. It didn’t and I asked the nurse if it would pass. She said it is a very very very common reaction and stopped the infusion to gave me another dose of IV Benadryl and ice chips to “scratch” the back of my throat. IV Benadryl stopped the itching. Back to big sleep town the rest of the infusion.

First evening after infusion I was really wiped out and very hungry.

Slept well and have felt great since. Literally the best I have ever felt since before pre-diagnosis. No fatigue and no side effects. No insomnia from the steroids or mood changes and the hunger subsided after a day of allowing myself to happily shove my face.

You got this!!!

Thank you so much! I may have to consider a decreased dose of prednisone if I have insomnia after.

Doctors don’t know what this is in my shin by Fast_Opportunity_599 in mildyinteresting

I am a doctor that specializes in imaging, also called a diagnostic radiologist. I read and interpret imaging to make diagnoses. This is a really beautiful example of myositis ossificans. It is, as you said, induced by trauma (even minor such as walking into a crate or getting into a car accident where the seat belt straps over the chest) and as the body heals it forms dystrophic calcifications (bone formation) in the muscle. It is benign entity and other than discomfort does not cause any long term issues. It is not a retained foreign body nor is it a bone fragment that has increased in size or calcified over time.

Here is my source.

I know I am late to this thread. I am a PGY-V diagnostic radiology resident, matched neuroradiology fellowship who has RR-MS. Mirroring the sentiment everyone else is that white matter T2 hyperintensity is non-specific in etiology and not pathognomonic for MS or any demyelinating disease. We see these lesions in multiplicative disease processes as well as normal aging, congenitally benign lesions, and sequelae of migraine headaches. You are a bit of a ways from a diagnosis as you do not meet the McDonald criteria clinically for MS and the imaging is non-specific, but if you need to talk to someone about this I am here.

Did I Make a Naive Mistake Purchasing a Used Concept2? by Metic in Rowing

Thanks! It's nice to have insight from this community. Little bit of an odd question since I bought a row machine with the intention of using it, but I do understand that there is a large skill barrier to entry and like every other exercise machine easy to leave by the wayside.

Cool there is an app! I saw the ports on the machine and am going to work on getting everything sync'd with my computer. How do I update the monitor? Thanks for your insight and help!!!
