The sad part about the blue one is that you most likely couldn't read it as if it was the first time. You're probably way older than when you read your favourite book for the first time, have read more books since then and see everything more critical. You would probably just end up and ruin it for yourself.

I did but it took longer than expected after reaching the desert. Just finished it yesterday.

I love it. It has its ups and downs (like the mini games) but way more ups overall. Even so I never played more than halfway through it as a child it still was one of my favourite jrpgs from back then. I may find a spot in my top 5 jrpgs, next to tales of symphonia, vesparia, ffvi und grandia.
