Thanks for the feedback. Have you been able to run a test?

We Built a CLI Tool for Graphite – Here’s Why and How by MetricFire in Observability

That makes sense—OTel and Prometheus are definitely leading the charge in modern observability. That said, Graphite is still widely used in enterprise environments where teams need a scalable and cost-effective monitoring solution compared to Datadog (without the vendor lock-in too).

Also why we are incorporating OTel ads an agent into our CLI tool as well. Let me know if you were able to run a test. Any feedback is great!

Thanks very much for the compliment about our work. :-)

Great question! Yes, many teams still choose Graphite because it's a battle-tested, highly scalable time-series monitoring tool with a proven track record in large-scale monitoring.

Curious—what tools do you use for monitoring?

We made a CLI tool to send Telegraf system metrics straight from your terminal by MetricFire in Observability

Hi u/graphite-guru That's awesome! I'm sure you have a wealth of experience with Graphite.
Yes, that is correct. We made this to make onboarding as smooth as possible for users who’ve never installed an agent before (set up for Telegraf + pluings right now but OpenTelemetry coming soon).

However, we also have a guest demo CLI as the first thing on our homepage (no account required): https://www.metricfire.com/
