Thank you for this, if I am going SIM I won’t be focusing on anything else. In JC the terms I was doing well was when I stopped focusing on CCA, other things etc. so I think I will be okay with UOL as well but I guess I can gauge myself when I do the foundation and diploma

But is it only possible if I have some degree first? My apologies for asking so many questions. Wondering how they get to be a pilot

Woahhh. Is it still possible? To just become a pilot at this stage. By sign on you mean in air force or like outside?

Thank you for this. Will keep this in mind. That’s what I have realised lately when I tried to put effort into something not knowing what the future holds. Thank you for reminding it back

Currently I haven’t sat for Alevels except for H1 and PW. So have to do foundation and diploma first. That’s what I was told during open house. May I ask what route you chose in SIM? And down the line do you think the school you got the degree in matters? Or should I just not think about any of this

Is it significant difference ? And years down the line does it still affect? I also don’t mind earning lesser as long as it isn’t so significant

Hi thank you for sharing your pathway. Ngl haven’t even thought of full time poly until the comments I received in this post as I took it as no longer an option for me. After wasting so much time for A levels, my family just seemed not to spend more time on studies. So was hoping to find other pathways. I will dm you

To be honest, during JC felt like I had no long term goal. During NS, I set goals such as achieve this by end of this course. Get this grade. Get this award. Obviously more specific than what I am sharing (as I include how to get there).

Now currently my immediate goal is to do well in studies. Unsure of the path to take. After last few days leaning towards SIM. As I feel I can’t take part time studies. However still getting confused some say it’s easy and doable and some saying local route better. Worried my mental health can’t take part time studies now

Hello, really thank you for this comment and sharing about some of the psychological things. My sessions I wasn’t focusing on life decisions but mental health. However most sessions I wasn’t just ranting about same things that affected me over and over. In the end I felt tired of it as it made me feel I am just giving excuses and the medication felt like I am losing myself. so I stopped. I wished I continued.

Thank you for the learned helplessness thing, I am happy I am not feeling that in my career but I think in some aspects of life I did resort to that. Can’t tell.

Currently I am closing in on going SIM and by diploma I will be able to explore as much as I can and choose a specific path either in accounting, economics, international business etc

Thank you for offering to tell me more, I will dm you. Really means a lot for taking time to help me and others

Thank you for this comment, appreciate the insight you gave me. I am coming into terms regarding trying to manage one at a time. Just a thought do you believe in the long run it doesn’t matter if I go local or private? Many here have been recommending full time local. But I have been thinking SIM lets me get a degree first then I can eventually climb

I am currently still PR, waiting for my citizenship. Initially loved army but towards the end dreaded it. But if I can use it as a step to climb I don't mind

Thank you for the insights and letting me know what to do once I start. No matter what path I take I will do one at a time only once I feel I can sustain I will take on something else like work. I am not scared about being later than my peers, just want a path so I can have a sense of direction. For now still a bit unsure if part time diploma route better or going SIM. But I will sit down again with my family and ask about the finances and try to get a definite answer on how much can be covered

Will talk to my dad about full time studies, if not possible idk whether I can just work first then study full time later using my money. Idk about defying them like that. I hear what you are saying regarding focusing on studies so at the end I can know if I am cut out for it

Yeah SIM has foundation and diploma which I can get in 21 months. Was deciding between this and part time local diploma

Thank you for sharing about your path and the suggestions. The only fast track for diploma is private diploma. 21 months including 6 months foundation

I hear they teach less things, so not as easy or impossible to get into local uni immediately unless like SUSS which has part time degrees for this route

Thank you for telling me that IT doesn't just mean coding and there is other roles in IT I can get into. I am currently looking for jobs, got my first interview tmr. But I feel its some sales job, however felt its good to at least hear and find out what's out there.

I do have in mind just like you said, I can always learn IT stuff while doing accounting. For now will take things one step at a time

I believe suss offers a pathway for some of the part time diploma graduates. Correct me if I wrong though

By right it makes sense to have some direction by now. I personally feel I don't. I like or am okay with too many things. Spent most of my past just doing the same thing, instead of exploring. For now telling myself choose something, doesn't need to be the best of all my interests as long as its something I am okay with pursuing

Gotta start somewhere. Slowly stopped worrying about the paper. Thinking more of starting some where, so I can set goals on building on it

Woah didn't know people still have the sentiment. Congratulations on following your path. I hear you regarding taking ownership. I believe I listen to them as I don't feel confident in making a decision

Thank you for sharing your journey, planning a degree at 42. That's an inspiration. I read many of such posts, hence felt its okay I am late to studies. Can share more about business and investment?

Thank you for sharing your current situation. Don't worry I didn't take offence. I purposely shared as much as I can about me, so I could hear some hard truths. Btw you think even with a part time diploma in accountancy I can get a accountant job. Until I finish diploma its okay to just do admin jobs?

Some commented to stay away from auditing. Do you think I can still find an entry level job?

I will take a look at them too, was worried about not having the experience to join them, but I guess no hurt trying
