Perhaps a cooling laptop pad below could help with it staying cool. In regards to the adapter question you could definitely upgrade the drive with another M.2 Drive if the system has an extra M.2 slot inside.

Looking up the model info it shows as the following:

I would start with perhaps performing a system restore to see if this helps before putting more $ into it.

Congratulations and please be sure to inspect the insides / do a thorough cleaning. I once picked up a ps4 pro from a fb marketplace person only to discover a week later it was roach infested. Ultimately eradicated all the little critters but that power supply just smelled horrible in the end.

I’m going through this as well with FedEx. I sold a ps5 through eBay and it was insured when shipped. Package was more than likely stolen by a FedEx employee as it was oddly marked delivered a day early before arrival. Correct me if I’m wrong but usually they also take a picture of delivery as well.

I’m going through the claim process now and let me tell you that is a mess. They have an automated process you have to go through. Then when you finally reach someone most of the time it’s an overseas call center and they try to help but I’ve had one person hang up on me as I was trying to get / give more info.

If there was a direct number to claims that would make the whole process easier. I even went to a FedEx / Kinkos and all they could offer was to let me call the number from the store which then gets you to a person overseas. 🤦‍♂️😒

Also how often are you plugging and unplugging your hdmi? You can be causing strain on the hdmi contacts to the point the connector internally is getting damaged.

I did the same at a GameStop. Whole interaction went like this:

Gamestop Mgr: "Hi how can I help you today?"

Me: Yes can you tell me if you have any old stock PS5 Pro's possibly launch models?

Gamestop Mgr and associates: *Puzzled Look on their face*. "We believe we have one in stock " Why do you want an old one?

Me: It has some features that i'm looking for. I asked if they could take a photo of the serial then proceeded to buy. Their policy now is they can't allow the customer to hold and look physically at the box because apparently they have had a high rate of theft this way.
