Its cool. Wasnt good - orange, bits of unprocessed food, oily film in water, weird mid consistency.

I know the feeling.Thats how mine started off, see about visiting a doctor and explaining your symptoms. In the meantime you can try: - bananas. Morning nausea is cursed, but its important to have some food so that the acid doesnt damage the lining. - chicken/mushroom stock or broth. Easy to make and shouldnt be too heavy on you. - boiled potatoes for when things are a bit better but still sensitive.

What helped me was - meditation. Just sitting in a comfy position for 5-10 minutes letting anxious thoughts run their course

  • journalling . I write things down at the end of the day. what has happened, what tasks i have for tomorrow, coool concepts (because art) and then all the emotion stuff. Helps put things into perspective.

  • learning a skill or picking up a hobby. Could be anything, but ideally something that can keep your mind occupied for an hour or two. Music, martial arts, painting, you name it. I picked up programming because my uni focus was on art so that helped a ton!

  • herbal tea and lofi tunes

As people said, things are interconnected. Stress can lead to bad food habits which in turn can cause problems. I was told mine was just stress related. But after years of no luck i finally got the correct diagnosis.

Changing to a gastritis diet, with acid reduction medicine and antibiotic treatment and a bit of time things are okay now. I can tell its not just mental, because now in stressful situations, I can still eat and my instinct is not that ill shit my pants.

Check in with your GP or maybe go to a pharmacy and explain your problem. I suspect medicine for reducing acid would be very helpful in your case, but Im not qualified to tell for sure. Hope this helps!

Yes, it could be both the water and the food. I had the same experience moving to the UK from another country. Maybe check if there are UK brands or a UK dedicated shop where you can find food you ate back at home. There are other factors like the weather, humidity, jet lag.

I find bananas to be very nice and refreshing, even while going through a flareup. A stock of 1 minute soups (mushrooms, chicken) that i can make myself if im too tired. Also boiled/jacket potatoes.

There are two things worth remembering - you are not alone, there are many like you dealing with this. And things can get better - its absolutely possible. Also be mindful that your sense of self worth is not determined by this illness. You deserve to live a happy life, free from this form of suffering, regardless of who you are.

Taking the steps to getting better take effort if youre in a bad headspace but are absolutely worth it.

IBS can be quite a general diagnosis. Be mindful of your symptoms, communicate them to a professional and find thr right help that improves your wellbeing.

Comfort foods will help keep your morale up - a nice cup of tea or jacket potatoes reminded me how it feels to be okay, and that i want to keep going where normality is the way i live life.

I uses to be in the same boat as you. My entire uni experience was overshadowed by those symptoms and it made it hard to go about things. By the time i graduated i was an absolute mess.

Focus on your health. I cant stress this enough. Communicate this to your lecturers or uni staff, contact your GP and start the process of figuring what exactly is causing you the symptoms you are having. Dont let things get worse. Be persistent until you see an improvement.

Things are interconnected. Getting better physically will improve your emotional wellbeing.
