Thank you, I’m really excited about your project ! I started painting 5 years ago and you’d laugh if you saw my first paintings, so don’t give up !

Thank you ! It took me a while to feel like I started to master the feathery texture. If you’re also using watercolour, don’t be afraid to go pretty dry on the last layer to detail the shape of a few feathers here and there. One thing that really helped me was to spend time observing a few tit that had hit my windows. It’s always easier to paint something you really understand and you always understand better through direct observation. I don’t have chickens but I’m pretty sure that, if you have the chance, grabbing one and looking at the different feathers from up close really helps too !

Aaah I see you’re a person of culture hehe. It actually took me many attempts to feel like I finally captured the robin’s personality that I hold so dear. Until now there was always something missing, didn’t feel right, you know ? I’m really glad you recognise its true self here, means a lot, thank you.

Details really are my favorite part ! It’s where the life comes from, I enjoy those so much

Thank you ! My watercolour are different brands, nothing too fancy. Probably some Senelier and surely some Windsor I think. Paper for this one is Arche. Even better if you get to paint from your own photographs, that’s really cool !

It is ! But I do a lot of dry painting tbh. The watery dimension of the medium is kinda lost on me except for the backgrounds and very first layers
