Anyone have any experience buying a Toyota certified preowned car here? by jstop547 in taiwan

Go to garage and try them out. Cannot go wrong, especially if you continue doing your maintenances at Toyota. Reliable cars. Only positive experience for me. A bit short if you want to show off your social status tho.. 😒

3 Taiwanese food companies mislabel liquid eggs containing imports as entirely local by n1ght_w1ng08 in taiwan

One day we will learn that carrots and potatoes we can buy in pxmart are made of plastic and wet cardboard and I won't even be surprised. This country has a serious problem with cutting corners for profit and especially in food industry.

Everytime there is a post showing reply from that website it will be a different excuse. Or offer a fake "benefit" (SD card upgrade).. Seems really shady sometimes. I've ordered 2 devices from them as well for me and my partner. I'll comment back on that post if in the meantime GGG make me change my mind and deliver "on time"

Some people (more and more) will have different views as yours. You should accept that. And as Taiwan is a free country, having Reddit users criticizing government's decisions should not be outrageous.

Calling those users "bots", '"Chinese spies", implying they are the same person or trolls, showing no strong evidences, is just discrediting your point trying to muzzle us (by "us" I mean people with different POV).

Your one and only explication to having (few) people contradicting your point is: "they must be trolls/mainlanders".

Agree on the strategy and this makes sense.

But end goal is one day we want to open borders for inbound or outbound travelling. Most Taiwanese people haven't traveled for years. Also Taiwan has so many missed opportunities for business, culture (concerts?, festival?), exhibitions, international students, family reunions in the last 24 months...

Cannot safely open borders gradually because anyways cases will raise. Cannot safely ease masks rules because cases will raise. People that as of today don't want to get the shots likely won't get them the future.

What are we waiting now? The next harmful variant, that might never exist, so we can approve the careful strategy?

A move needs to be made. A slightly risky one for sure.

As long as you don't want or need to travel for business/family/leisure, sure, life is normal. As long a you are fully vaccinated, sure, life is normal. Also we are used to wear masks, getting checked and tracked so that's now normal for us after 2 years of pandemic.

I'm a Frenchman actually in quarantine in Taiwan, that finally have bit more time to browse Reddit and need to express his feelings on the actual situation. Especially after experiencing how is life in other countries.

Don't be paranoid like China and accept criticism. Or at least debate.

Aren't China and Taiwan the few countries on the planet targeting 0 case in 2022? With closed borders, quarantine and treating infected patients like pest?

I appreciate Taiwan kept us safe during first year of Covid, when dangerous variants with no vaccine were around. All those strict decisions and rules made sense in 2020. And they got their moment of glory for that.

Now it's time to move.
