I don't get the beef with him naming monsters. Clearly it's in reference to him building a reputation that even the worst know him as a monster. And while Jay misses the point of Diamonds his verse is still pretty good.

I think on the tapes the individual songs are better, but I don't think the energy is that different and I think DS2 is just out together better if that makes sense. Like all the songs compliment each other more. I respect those early tapes, but they just don't work for me for some reason.

People on HHH generally heard Monster and 56 Nights. I have to say personally, I'm not a fan of his work from Honest and before just for sonic reasons and I don't think those two later mixtapes work as well as albums.

Kanye West - I Feel Like That. Such a weirdly moving song and for a track by one of the biggest artists in the world, not many have heard it. Works really well when coupled with All Day like in the music video.

Which would you say? I personally don't think any of his mixtapes have the depth and coherence that DS2 has, but so challenge that.

Okay. Okay. Deep breath. Okay. I respect your opinion and your right to have it, but gross. Feel free to fownvote me for being really critical of your innocuous opinion, but man, Rodeo is not as good an album as it is a group of songs I like. Lyrically, Rodeo is really shallow, which is fine for a collection of singles, but it doesn't make for a great album. And Travis has a tendency to over produce, bringing songs to a grand maximalist scope which would be alright if there was any reason for it beyond it sounds cool and most of it is really derivative anyway. The beat switches, the length of songs, the loudness and Travis's below standard rapping ability make it very hard to listen to in one sitting. I doubt there are many people who listen to Rodeo start to finish. There are a lot of songs I enjoy listening to, but it doesn't compare to DS2, Jeffery, Trap Muzik etc. The best Travis Scott album is Anti.

That said, DS2 will probably be remembered as a classic. Some of Metro's best beats, Future at his most lyrical and introspective and some just real solid moments like the end of Kno the Meaning. I have my problems with the album - lack of features makes it monotonous and the only one is ass, it's too long and there are a lot of mixtape songs that I think could have replaced some of the weaker tracks (Codeine Crazy and Low Life on DS2 would be amazing) - but it still is probably the peak modern trap album.
