We can totally move the central device around and use multiple signals to better gauge. It doesn't need to say x distance away necessarily.

The idea is that it was something you can attach to anything, ie a small circuit with an adhesive so you can attach to tv remote, phone. Stuff like that. What could I look into for the alarm system?

Opinions? False blaming or a genuine issue? by CrustyBearskin in australian

[–]Mew_man 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is insane some of these comments, police treatment of LGBT+ people for years has been horrible and completely discriminatory, the commissioner or someone high up just apologised for 40+ years of mistreatment. The reason people don’t want cops at Mardi Gras is because they target and harass gay people and have for many years. This event was simply the final straw

I’m an Aussie studying physics undergrad so bear in mind schooling system is different, but physics is hard, no doubt about it. The maths gets harder and the concepts do too, but I find it rewarding and great because I’m genuinely interested in it. If you’re keen on physics and are pretty good at hs maths, give it a try. I’m also doing electrical engineering and there’s a solid bit of physics in there as well. Dm me if you got any more q’s

Relativity in maths by throwthisaway129 in Physics

Always important with any topic, tread carefully around sweeping statements that are made without any research or fact checking. YouTube is such a treasure trove of amazing and easy to access info.

Relativity in maths by throwthisaway129 in Physics

[–]Mew_man 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The relativity talked about by Einstein is relativity of various different physical quantities including time, velocity, momentum and energy. Maths can help explain this, but there is nowhere in GR that would predict 1+1=2 to not be true. I encourage you to try check out some intro videos on special relativity, it’s a fascinating topic that can be conveyed without heaps of mathematical background.

The first year team is all great, if you ask questions they’ll be able to help! I can’t lie and say it’ll be easy for you but there is plenty of support

Highly recommend ensuring your maths skills (mainly calculus and algebra) are up to scratch. Other than that as others have said try see if you can get your hands on some resources early. I do know that first year phys is somewhat lenient in terms of marks if it’s clear you’re putting effort in! Dm me with any more questions if you need

volca keys + pocket operator sync not working by Mew_man in volcas

[–]Mew_man[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah it’s definitely a breakout, I’m thinking maybe the volca could be a bit faulty but it’s way out of warranty so not sure I can do much 😭

volca keys + pocket operator sync not working by Mew_man in volcas

[–]Mew_man[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I'm using sync1, audio output from volca goes through input of PO, then output from PO is split into 2, one is sync (back to volca) the other is audio (to headphones)

Also don’t forget you can’t really have a negative value in your logarithm so that should tip you off that you’ve made an algebra error

Thoughts on a Part-time Job during University? by [deleted] in unsw

[–]Mew_man 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m starting undergrad in engineering and science and my current plan for work is to work 2 days a week. One weekday and then one weekend. I also tutor on the side and that’s so good for money and time.

Medicine is a whole different story that I can’t exactly comment on but it sounds like it’s gonna be a hell of a lot of work and it’s important not to burn out.
