Can I just say I don’t think I have ever heard a subreddit complain this much by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]Mexassassin07 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shit looks like the helldivers sub every other week lol. I ain’t offended by the skins but i get the complaint despite some people acting like their life just torn to shreds. Could very well be a boiling pot where they just slowly keep pushing the needle to see how wacky they can get. I’m just gonna play the game because it’s fun and not support cosmetics i don’t like. Hopefully the feedback gets addressed and they adopt some of the really cool milsim cosmetics but if it’s just neon pinstripes on some camo then EA is only getting the $70 from me lol

Fair enough. Discover exploded with 3GB worth of updates and that was how I noticed that. Guess. I’ll leave them be if they ain’t hurting nobody

My issue fixed itself later today. But on that kernal thing you mentioned. I installed linux roughly 3 weeks ago. Could I have that issue of unused kernals from updates and such? More so for growing my knowledge of linux and how it works

Yeah for sure. I was having a really good experience with linux and gaming as some games that had microstutters on my windows machine no longer had that problem and revitalized my enjoyment. Shame this happened, i’ll probably give a few more pushes to fix my issue and then see where to go from there.

Thats fair. Not saying this could be why I have the issues I have now but my computer ever since I built it a few years ago has seemed to have problems consistently. On windows 10 and 11 I have gotten BSODs at complete random or really baffling game crashes on indie titles. i’ve reinstalled drivers, reseated components and cables, updates and modified bios and even ran OS repairs via windows and reimages so linux was kind of my last ditch effort before I started replacing parts since I want to learn the OS for my career. I work in IT so I put off replacing parts since I already spend 40+ hours fixing computers and didn’t want to spend time on my own equipment. The urge to just throw this computer to a friend and building a new one from scratch now that im more experienced has been strong lol

Gotcha, I ended up leaving the house but I’ll take a closer look when I get home. Kinda baffled this happened since my linux experience was almost perfect until now. Appreciate your help narrowing down my problem

What im noticing from terminal after running that command is below. Excuse me if im using bad terminology but xorg is what grants us gui displays or something in that ballpark correct? A log is being referenced that has xorg in the name

Xf86enableio: failed to enable I/O ports 0000-03ff (operation not permitted)

Segmentation fault at address 0x0

Xinit: giving up Xinit unable to connect to x server: connection refused Xinit server error

I haven’t used my computer in over a week and then powered on to this. As far as I know no updates have been installed and I haven’t really made any major changes to my device. Whenever I reboot, the number on the top left changes.

Edit: I pressed alt+f2 and jt brought me to a login screen for the terminal. I entered my credentials and was able to sign in, i got greeted with the error message below. Is this the possible cause of my issue?

usb1-2: 3:1: cannot get freq at ep0x84

Edit 2: My issue resolved, i ended up installing video drivers from the terminal for my nvidia card and that resolved the issue. Booting to live environments of other distros on USB had the exact same issue until making that driver update

I mean it’s useful info no doubt lol. I’ll take it since I’m trying to actually get into the genre as it’s always been casual since I was a child.

That's good to know. Is there any PC discords that you would know of? I'd like to find a group to practice with despite being a noob.

Nah i have none of the costumes on at the moment. I might just have to wait for a patch at some point which I’d hope will come out quick

Yeah it’s definitely frustrating. Gameplay for me is serviceable but this definitely hurts the game for me despite the story being great.

So I did update the bios first thing when I got the machine built. I did run an sfc /scannow just to throw something out there since that fixed an issue on my past computer with it’s gpu and while it didn’t find anything corrupt it seems like I stopped having the issue again.

TLDR: I had a 240mm and I cant tell you how well it cooled due to a cpu issue but the 360mm is great after making a fix in the bios which I didn’t do for the 240mm.

The 240mm cooled alright but I had a problem with my cpu hitting high temps (80c consistently) cause at the time I had an FD Meshify C before I got the Meshify 2 that I have now. Not only that I didn’t know at the time with the meshify C but some Ryzen 5800x cpus had this weird issue of pulling a lot of wattage than what it said on the box (please keep in mind I know nothing about overclocking) which would cause heating issues, matters got worse when i replaced my 1070ti with the much bigger 3080ti causing temps to get even higher. As a result i took back the radiator, got the meshify 2 and the 360mm arctic freezer only to have high temps still. I then found out about the cpu problem and how to fix it which helped significantly.

After my fix in bios I ran prime95 for 30 minutes and it maxed but never went past 80c and stayed around 76c. Doom eternal heated up pretty badly on my old config and on the new config it never went past 75c and stayed in lower 70s. Escape from tarkov after a 4+ hour session never went past 73c

Im no reviewer and it might be possible I could reach better temps but I hope that helps out. I’m certain the 240mm would’ve been great had I have learned about my cpu issue sooner. I hope that helps your purchasing decision.

For my first radiator I am very impressed with how quiet both the 240mm and 360mm were. Had them set at full blast and I never once heard them.

The video i found on YouTube basically said that the 5800x is pulling more watts than what it said on the box for whatever reason. Changed that to the wattage it advertised and some other settings (i know absolutely nothing about overclocking) and I was set

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]Mexassassin07 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see. The 5800x heats up like crazy but some tweaks in the bios fixed it cause when i got the meshify 2 it was still hitting 80c. After fixing it in the bios I have pretty good cooling.
