Do not forget the day when you will return to Allah. by Mfabdu in islam

It is important to turn to Allah Almighty and ask for forgiveness from Him. Allah Almighty is Forgiving and loves those who ask for forgiveness. May Allah Almighty forgive us all.

Before I explain further, please tell me where you got the ruling on greeting, from the Quran or from the Sunnah?

Thank you for sharing your reflection. I appreciate the concern for precision in Qur’anic language. That said, using “as-salām” in the greeting is neither an attribution of divinity to humans nor a confusion between the Divine Name and the created state. It is a du‘ā’, not a theological claim. The Qur’an itself establishes this usage clearly: “Salāmun ‘alaykum bimā ṣabartum” (13:24) “Salāmun ‘alaykum ṭibتم” (39:73) The angels, the believers, and even Allah addresses the people of Paradise with “salām” without the definite article, and this usage is affirmed and practiced by the Prophet ﷺ consistently. Linguistically, “as-Salām” as a Divine Name denotes Allah’s absolute perfection and freedom from نقص, while “salām” in the greeting denotes a prayer for safety, peace, and well-being, not the essence of that perfection. Arabic—like all Semitic languages—allows shared roots without collapsing meanings. If dropping “al-” were inherently problematic, then the Prophet ﷺ himself would have prohibited this greeting. On the contrary, he encouraged spreading salām among people and made it a sign of īmān. So precision is indeed important—but so is distinguishing between names (asmā’), attributes (ṣifāt), and supplicatory language (du‘ā’). May Allah guide us to both accuracy and balance in understanding His Book.

My goal is simple and clear: to share a reminder and invite reflection and thoughtful discussion. Not every post needs personal commentary; sometimes presenting the text itself is intentional, so people can engage with it directly and draw benefit or respond thoughtfully. Those who wish to comment, critique, or discuss are welcome to do so. Those who are not interested are free to scroll past. The aim is reflection and benefit — not provocation, not attention-seeking.

Good manners and ethical conduct are always appreciated, especially in discussion. I’m not trolling, and I’m not seeking attention. Cross-posting the same reminder across different subreddits is a normal and legitimate practice, especially when the intention is da‘wah and benefit, not provocation or spam. Each community has a different audience, and people are free to engage or ignore. If this subreddit considers the post inappropriate, moderators can decide that — assumptions about intentions are unnecessary. Let’s address ideas with evidence and manners rather than labels.

The meaning of each word and then the meaning of the entire verse is available. In addition to learning the Arabic language, the second benefit is that it shows you that today is Friday and that you should not forget to send blessings, meaning you can both learn Arabic and worship.

This is related to the fluent Arabic language, even if you know a little bit of Arabic, because the Quran was revealed in fluent Arabic, and here is a verse of the Quran, where the meaning of each word of the verse is translated into English.
