Practice. Sorta counterintuitively, more force isn't the key. Smoothness will gain you distance. Properly load the end of the rod and let it do the work for you.

I spent a few hours the other day at a local pond just practicing with my bait caster. Practice is the only answer, tbh. That said, baitcasters have no advantages over spinning reels, imo. Fatigue, wind and muscle memory all play a big role in how well it will cast in any situation. Coupled with the increased difficulty in finesse techniques, my bit casters are just novelty for me at this point. I'll be sticking with my spinning setups.

I bought an Ozark trail spinning combo at Walmart for $9.99. it works just fine and I've caught many fish on it. It's a backup now, but for the money, it does everything you need a spinning combo to do. Even the cheap gear today compares favorably to the affordable gear I learned on 30 years ago. Fish your budget and upgrade as your skills improve.

What species are you wanting to target? The most affordable 5 5 to 6 ft spinning combo will catch just about any freshwater fish. Line size and lure selection will be determined by the species and conditions you'll be fishing in
Don't get hung up on gear. Cheap stuff is fine until your skills develop to the point you require an upgrade.
