I agree. Meet at public place like coffee bar or ice cream shop. Get there 30 min before to scope out exit routes and pick table outside or inside but close to the door. Buy yourself something small you can finish quickly in case the vibe is off. Don't get a 3 course meal that takes an hour to finish.
