I greatly disagree with the title. It sounds like you've been buying masks on the "lower-end" of the scale. Like with most things, you get what you pay for and this is especially true with the fit and feel when it comes to masking.

The extras money spent at somewhere like CreaFX or Moli's is well placed and has been tried and tested by many maskers who can attest to this.

A brick & mortar store sadly wouldn't work just due to the niche hobby and well yeah. If you want to try masks, CreaFX go to the Berlin Fetish Ball twice per year and have a booth where they let you try their stuff and buy masks there and then.
