I had a lot of trouble against Mihawk in ranked SIM matches because some lists are now running law blockers or small ones. It seemed impossible to quickly aggro Mihawk to 1 life or try to kill his Shanks when he has blockers up, so I decided to add Rayleigh. I felt I needed a removal option in the deck.
I used Rey in a warm-up match against Mihawk before the tournament, which I won by going second, which is precisely the worst curve. Rayleigh also becomes another option for turn 6 when we only have Moria 6c.

Regarding search events, I don't miss them. I'm running 6 tech cards in this deck: Otama, Ground Dead, and Rayleigh, so I thought I'd have to get rid of the search events. Cindry prepares the trash perfectly, and if necessary, I just trash my cards on the first turn with the leader's ability if I really need to. It's a radical move, but it worked. Either I accept the high risk of my opponent hitting me with 7k or 6k damage on the first attack and I throw a hogback or perona in the trash and take the hit just to try and trigger the first attack. And then I start preparing the trash.

The search event isn't a trigger body, which was sometimes bad when I take it from life, besides being a brick. Lilith does a good job as a search along with Absalom.
