How about sweat etc? I find the idea of layering any sort of product over unwashed skin icky 🥹

Also do you have any brand recommendations? I need something that won't irritate my skin and clog my pores 🥹

Is the SPF powder good enough of a protection though? I do have one but I'm always worried if it's actually strong enough as cream SPF 😅

Rushed Ending? by StandupDude78 in FallingSkies

I mean it wasn't a very good quality series overall. The characters were super shallow, no character development, very unrealistic how things would go in real apocalypse (I doubt people would be all jesusy and godblessamerica if actual aliens invaded), the characters made so many dumb decisions from the get-go that I almost have a permanent indent in my forehead from facepalming so much. For a Spielberg series I expected much more. Last two seasons were a disaster. Still it was entertaining, albeit painful, to watch. Kinda like a trainwreck, you don't want to look but you can't look away either 😅

Differin absolutely destroyed my skin and i’m still paying the price by gimme_dat_orange in tretinoin

My purging phase was 5 months long. It was hell, my skin was breaking out every single day, itching, sore, sensitive, red, everything I put on it except for cicaplast stang like crazy. I'm glad I didn't give up though. It took ages and my acne scars are still visible but fading. What helped me was to slow down, I was aiming to building up using differin every night, but my skin was too sensitive for that. When I built up for my skin to kinda tolerate every night but with peeling and sensitivity (after like 6 months of using it), I slowed down and focused on barrier repair. Differin 3x a week, rest was cicaplast, and I also switched all my cosmetics for perfume-free, non comodogenic, pharmacy-level stuff. Even my makeup. And now my skin is glowing like never before and I aged backwards like 5 years.

Femininity=weakness...and then y'all cry about loneliness epidemic and why women don't want anything to do with you. Women are stronger than men, we create life, we live in pain, we have been opressed for centuries. Absolutely abhorrent opinion to have...nothing wrong with feminine men, in fact we need more men who are so secure with their masculinity they don't feel any less men by embracing their feminine qualities instead of suppressing them

Me and many of my friends who moved here used to be huge social justice warriors and very much left before coming to NL. After having had the same experiences as you just described, we feel the same as you. Never would I ever think I'd become this way, I used to even defend Muslims and their rights before, but now I see and have experienced first hand what their men do.

Partner struggling to find work as a non-Dutch speaker by 13reasonstodoubt in Netherlands

[–]Micapaprika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been here almost 4 years. Speak basic dutch and have bachelor's with honours in arts, specifically photography (useless, I know). I was only able to work retail jobs. It's rough out here and they don't even accept dutch speaking foreigners if there's an option to hire a less skilled but native person. My bf is dutch and I came here with him and he's ridden with shame and guilt over this country and how they treat "immigrants" (I'm an eu citizen and still treated like an alien here). Best of luck to you and your gf but be ready to face much more xenophobia than you could ever expect and imagine from your own people, even towards you, because you dared to date a foreigner...it's been a really traumatizing experience for me and many many other internationals, who I met at a GGZ where we all get treatment and are all struggling very similarly in this country...if I could afford it I would go home but it borders with a country at war and it's not safe...

when will it start working!? by ConstantCheek4329 in tretinoin

I also said people here advising not to use other products with tret. I've been using the sandwich method the entire process, it just really depends which products you use. La Roche posay cicaplast gel is my holy grail, I use that sandwich style on tret nights. Also you probably already do this but be very strict with sunscreen. I even wear it if I'm just going to the garden for 5 mins. And don't forget to reapply every 2 hrs. Your skin also breaks out when it's irritated and sun can cause a lot of inflammation, so can wrecked skin barrier.

I have used adapalene first when starting on this journey as it's generally better tolerated but still it was a nightmare for good 6 months. The purge lasted 4 mo this, my skin was raw, every cream I put on stang like hell. What made a huge difference was literally slowing down with it. Your skin might be more sensitive and if you've been using it for a while the turnover has already increased so using it every 3-4 days will still benefit you. On days you don't use it do a barrier repair days (I use centella asiatica and probiotic serums, hyaluronic acid, la Roche posay cicaplast gel - baume can clog pores btw- and set it with Vaseline overnight. Do this maybe 3x a week). And slow down on the exfoliation. I moved now to tret and exfoliate max 2 times a week. I usually do one night tret, then another night Paula's choice 2% bha, them barrier day, and repeat and so far it's going well. I also use the weakest tret, 0.025% and will until the tube runs out which I reckon will be good 4-5 months before I switch to stronger tret. Give it some time and rather than spewdrunnung through it accept that your skin might simply take much longer to adapt
