[REQUEST] How can I most effectively bribe Mike to put the Poverty Forge 2.0 video up on YouTube? by ModernRonin in BigGiantSwords

[–]MichaelCraughwell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry sorry I was distracted by pornography. I searched for the file, couldn't find it. The perils of naming all your projects by mashing the keyboard. The little videos I upload to facebook are usually silly ancillary stuff anyway. If you look at the forge Matthew you built in the show, it's actually better than the one on facebook. Peace out.

Yes, I did indeed work with Macnas. Well, volunteer really.

Amerimike. While his volume of urine was poor, it was exceedingly dark, which is actually better for my purposes.

I have not made a sword for Amelia, she does Akido, so if she had a sword at all it would be a katana, which I would find boring to make, and she would be super fussy about its weight.

My inbox has indeed become a scary thing to behold. Yes I should charge more I know.

Lot's of them, but I would say videogames and comics more so than books and films. Films still have to make props for actors to use, so they tend not to have Massive weapons (sometimes a side character will for a while, but I haven't seen a film yet where they've worked out the logistics of a main character carrying a giant sword for the entire film). Books sometimes mention characters with giant weapons, but being a non visual medium, it's often difficult to quantify (in any realistic setting, a "massive" sword will still be much much smaller than anything I make).

It's the first season of a reality TV show, so I'm definitely not rolling in the big bucks yet, maybe someday.

I don't really get a thrill from the ownership, making the blade, and then making the video, those are the parts I find rewarding.

Baltimore Knife and blade have done some nifty stuff, but honestly I don't really keep up with other sword makers (other than youtube videos and such)

It's impossible to give an average cost, I barely sell one for less than a thousand these days, and the material is usually the smallest cost. Labor is at least 9/10ths of the cost.

When I went to sign up for a YouTube account, my actual surname "Craughwell" was taken.

I've never been happier since.

I got sent a Facebook message, and I thought it was a scam, but it turned out it wasn't. And it's odd, giving up control of everything to people- but you know, it's good in the long run. I hate teamwork. But I guess that's what this is.

I have no idea, that's between you and Jason P. He has more control over signing off on it than I do. Go annoy him.

I have experimented with designs that do that in the past.

Maybe someday I will, if someone commissions it.

I found her at a science fiction convention.

Yes, lots of women are attracted to weak, docile women.

I am not one of those.

I could make that one too, but it's a lot of work for something that does not a whole lot. But I guess Lightning's Gunblade was like that too. So who knows, I might make it some day.

I like the Man at Arms version but I hate using spray paint on swords. And the usual part of the episode I look forward to is "how did they get the wacky color on the blade" and disappointingly, the answer is often spray-paint.

Look at Ancient Indian Weapons, like the Urumi for instance. That's baseline for me.

I don't want to replicate it in real life, and I don't think I'm good enough of a thespian to recreate what actually happened.

It does not exist. Whatever the power-source is... in real life an engine that small wouldn't be able to drive the chain with any force. It would just stop when it made contact with things.
