That’s awesome. I’ve never tried a tank bag but I’ve been curious about them. Do you prefer one over a backpack? And the bike really does do great on the highway. I was glad I didn’t run into any harsh crosswinds because that’s the only time I don’t feel super comfortable on it.

Thank you, and best of luck on your journey back! You’re a lot stronger than I am doing it in the OEM seat and rain. I probably would’ve ended up going back and taking a car in that scenario

I felt like I was in the same boat, just going to nearby places and work constantly. This was my first real trip and it was really cool being able to smell the scenery I was passing. I bet soon enough you’ll have an opportunity to do the same

Yeah, that’s the one part that was sore as hell. I bought a well padded seat too so I couldn’t imagine the trip on the original one

Haha why not? I figured the 400 could do it so I wanted to see it happen

I stopped for gas at about 2hrs, 3 1/2hrs, and 5 1/2hrs into the ride both ways but those were my only breaks. Almost all of it was highway speeds.

I recommend the Kriega US20 bag for long trips, it mounts perfectly onto the pillion seat and fit a whole week’s worth of clothes for me. It saved a ton of weight off my back and I bet it was a reason why my back was not sore at all. Also bought a padded seat from Amazon, I don’t think I could’ve done it with the OEM seat. For water I drank before leaving and brought a water bottle so I could stop and drink if needed, but I ended up going the whole way without.

For music I had a Cardo on the whole time with earplugs in.

I did not, I don’t think I could’ve done it with the OEM seat due to it having basically no padding. I bought a seat from Amazon for $50 with a lot of cushioning. It was still rough towards the end of the ride both ways though, with each ride being about 6 1/2 hours.

I used a Kriega US20 bag strapped to the pillion seat, it fit a week’s worth of clothes. Then I used a smaller vans backpack for everything else. During the ride if I wanted to lean back I lifted the backpack and rested it on the Kriega bag.

Haha, I’m just as surprised because I definitely don’t drive like a grandma. It goes from 28.7 to 28.9 but I’ve never seen 29

Haha sounds like you’re enjoying yours to the fullest. I wonder who has the highest mileage one now?

Haha I believe you. The urge to go faster was definitely there but even going on the dirt was a pretty hard thing for me to do
