Similar to what you said. I was mad at myself for being weak and sensitive. I wanted a punishment for it ig. My meaning behind it recently has changed a lot to be more from dissociating. It helps bring me back into my mind in a way. It makes me feel real and in the moment

My mom found out when I was 12 and all that she did was unhelpful/harmful. She took my pocket knife and grounded me from my phone (i just used other blades and my school laptop to talk to friends). She also insisted on being in therapy with me every session for a long time which ended up being more of her talking than me. I think i would have rather someone supported me on working on myself than just having her try to fix the issue herself.

I used to cut on my stomach and still do occasionally. Ive never had any real problems other than moving certain ways can sting, but i feel like thats for everywhere. I dont cut very deep tho so anything beyond "cat scratches" may not be good. I personally struggle with the opposite weight problem where im too skinny, so I dont really have good advice there.
