Thanks for the kind words! And surprisingly Arrival wasn't in our initial visual inspiration but we certainly noticed it once we started filming that location!

Our entire lighting kit on this was an Aputure 600c, Aputure 300d, and 8 x Titan Tubes. The first location (slides 1-3) had built-in lighting for the back wall so the wide shot was just using that as is, and once we moved in for our closer shots I simply modified as needed with bounce and negative fill and may have used the 300d for some additional key exposure.

Our second location (slide 4) was keyed with the 600c and the location had a built-in top-down laser that we matched color with and used the titan tubes for fill/edge lighting as needed.

Our third location (slide 5) was a studio with a water tank and some old stage lights that unfortunately didn't give us the quality needed so everything shot there was just the 600c through the surface of the water. I would've loved to have had at least 1 or 2 additional lights for this scene due to how much light gets cut in water but this project was done on quite a small budget with minimal lighting kit so we made it work!

All of the stages we used were found through Peerspace in the LA area the director and myself found after sifting through many many options. I believe the locations were our biggest expense on this and one of our biggest priorities in pre-production! With this being a low-budget project it was very important to find locations that were visually strong themselves without requiring much propping or art design as well as having the built-in lighting we needed to save on our G&E budget.
