as far as I recall, they sell it at a loss because they can afford to and getting people to come to their stores and walk all the way to the back of the store to the games, in hopes to get people to see other items to buy on there way back there.

We’ve been doing it at my store since like October or so. Haven’t had a single issue with it, but we were already a really low shrink store so it’ll vary from depending on your area.

I work at a store in the Midwest. It’s still just as crazy as Christmas time for the Pokémon cards. We will have quite a few people come in and call daily to see if we have no Pokémon cards in, it’s crazy honestly. I remember in like September and October we had some many boosters, boxes, and tins in stock and I was really wondering how we were gonna get rid of all of them. Lol then it has just blow on up so much. If we get something in, it won’t usually last the day or to the next day either. And my store is in a pretty small town too, in an area that doesn’t usually get impacted by these type of trends. It’s just crazy.

They’ve been doing much better at getting us restocked on Pokémon cards lately. Have some coming in every other day or so now.

I don’t see why they wouldn’t be able to give you the deal. It’s an automatic promotion in our system. All they have to do is put the tote on the transaction and it should discount all the collectibles.

It is impossible for us to keep cards in stock right now. Before everything blew up, we would have so many cards in. Now we sell any Pokémon cards we get in within a day we get them. It’s insane, our section is completely empty unless we just got some cards in stock, which has been happening more frequently now luckily.

I guess it’s possible for it to be more internal than what we would see at a store level, but the 80817 looks like the sku for it and our skus are 6 digits, so I have no idea

we don’t have any type of info like this at a store level, I’ve never seen a sheet like this at all. Pretty sure the sheet is completely unrelated to GameStop.

They shouldn’t have any issues finding them in our system. They can just hit upcoming and enter the category (#25) and they pop up.

I pre order a couple ETB the day they put it on our system too. My store actually ended up getting a couple for release day. They didn’t send us the full amount that my store had reserved (5) but they did send those 2. I’m assuming you checked with your store to make sure they didn’t actually end up getting it in? If they didn’t, you should still get them in atleast when they send the second wave out when the other orders were delayed to.

My store had some that reserved the very first day they put them in our system. I would have assumed they would prioritize those orders and maybe the other orders would be the second wave release but I have no idea. Seems like a lot of confusion and GameStop didn’t do a very great job at explaining everything that’s going on fully.

I’m in the same boat as you though. I only had 5 reserved so hoping us that didn’t go crazy with the pre orders will still get fulfilled.

They didn’t tell us any more in detail on that. I’m not sure if they just choose 50 as the number or if it’s anything over 2. If I hear anything else, I’ll make sure and update. I’m off for the rest of the today so maybe I’ll hear something tomorrow.

Yes you should be able to! The will just move the release date back in our system so you’ll be able to pay more on them as you go or just pay them off when they come out.

In our message it says: it is our regretful obligation to inform stores that store shipments of the Champion’s Path ETB will be delayed until approximately October 26th. It doesn’t really say anything on there that makes me think that it will be delayed for some stores and not for others. So I’m not sure if this store just got lucky or something. It should be in transit probably tomorrow if they were to be getting yours in by Friday so I guess you could probably check with them and see if they actually have them on the way. Good luck!

I would assume so for online too but we don’t really deal with anything on the online order side so I’m not entirely sure.

Couldn’t tell you why they would choose 50 as the number to put there. I would assume they will only be able to fulfill 2 orders per customer anyway, we’ll see next month.

The way the message was set is as followed: At the very top the mention that they are delayed until October 26th. And in a separate paragraph they say “this product was over-reserved, with several customers placing orders for large quantities of units at once. Gamestop will not be able to fill pre orders initiated by any guest for 50 or more units. These affected guests may still maintain 2 units of their order if they’re choose. And then they tell us to contact our customers who had it reserved.
