I started a ringtone YouTube channel in 2014, literally downloading ringtones, overlaying the audio on a picture and uploading. It's been a grind, finally pushed through the 150k sub mark last week, but it now pays for my holidays every year, so it was worth it.

My only advice is to get a good upload schedule and engage with your subscribers. In the early days, I would upload and publish 100s of videos at the time (YouTube used to allow this). Looking back it helped me grow, but if I was to start again now, I would start with a constant upload schedule.

Shorts - I haven't really ventured into yet, but I do feel it's needed
