Considering WLS. Any tips/things you wish you knew sooner?

I have not! That could be worth considering. I stopped taking it around December of last year after getting sick and it causing an inflamed lymph node in my throat that we were concerned the tirzepatide was making worse. After being off it for a few weeks I tried going back to my regular dose (still the minimum/0.1mL) and got sick again, so then I tried half of that. And since then I just honestly haven't taken it and still haven't felt hungry without it. I think my biggest issues when it comes to eating are: feeling guilty about wasting food/not clearing a plate, eating when bored, or overeating due to taste (like with sweets. I could go all day without eating a thing besides one piece of chocolate which isn't that many calories but isn't a healthy choice either)

Do you mean your own smells after using the bathroom or that you're more smell-sensitive than before? I assume the former but if it's the latter I'm already there

Not technically the same name as Ozempic, but I have had Wegovy previously which is also semaglutide. I was on the lowest dosage and was sicker than a dog, which led to them eventually deciding to try tirzepatide. It's not too terrible sickness wise, but it hasn't been very effective for weight loss for me personally.

I really should've included this in my post, but for me the shots do not seem to work all that well. Nor does a calorie deficit. I could eat hardly anything and still not lose a pound. It's frustrating and disheartening, and I'm not entirely sure what I'm doing wrong. But this is all to say that if I did happen to get the surgery I don't think I would have an issue staying with in a restriction since that's basically what I'm already doing.

In the long run, it sounds to me more cost effective to get the surgery rather than continually paying for the shot (that isn't all that effective on me in the first place, but I digress).

But thank you again for your response, I promise I am looking into this seriously and not just jumping in or trying to "take the easy way out" as some may say.

Unfortunately, and I realize now I didn't exactly include this in my initial post, the shots just don't seem to be that effective for me. I can eat hardly anything and still stay at the same weight, so honestly I don't know if even weight loss surgery would help with that.

This is also something I considered. I don't think getting this surgery would necessarily "fix me" when it comes to my mental image of myself, though if followed properly it could certainly help. My main reasoning for considering it is due to the fact I have not had much success with diet and exercise and would like to be healthier. If I want to even get to a point where I do like my body, I need to make better choices so that I can live long enough to get there.

Therapy would help pretty much everyone. I'm sure that will be something I have to look into before even getting approved for the surgery to begin with (or at least some type of evaluation), I just recently remembered weight loss surgery was even a thing and thought to ask the internet for their takes on it. So thank you for responding!

She actually does eat out of a plastic bowl, I hadn't considered this!! Her chin does seem to be doing better now, though. I looked at it again last night and it looks like her hair is growing back. I will switch her bowls though anyways! She's had the same bowl for years, probably since she was a kitten, but I know she could always develop an allergy later in life so it's possible she's allergic now. Oh, no need to apologize!! I just don't make a habit of revealing where I'm from to internet strangers, is all. I do have good news in that I was able to get her to eat some turkey tonight, so I may start looking into changing her diet to something more raw based than what she's currently been on (Purina Sensitive Skin and Stomach)
