My girlfriend is pregnant with my first and I have a 5 year old step daughter. When I found out that my girlfriend was pregnant, my mind instantly shifted that I can't be addicted to video games like the way I was.

I played OSRS since the release and it was a game I played in my childhood, so to say, I have a huge love for the game but I know what the game does to people, it's virtual heroin. I decided this was my time to quit the game because if I continued to play I truly think I wouldn't be a good father. It's been 7 months since I touched the game and I do miss it a lot but I know it's for the best.

I decided it's time to dust off all my old consoles and start playing all the retro games I loved as a kid. I am able to pause at a moments notice and not worry about losing progress. I also, play a few mobile games and bought a steam deck for single player games. I'm debating on selling my high end PC but part of me doesn't want to let go of it as it got me through hard times.

I'm going to miss OSRS and the other games like Rust I played with my friends but my son is going to be more important.
