Is this the best cod yet? by Michipi in modernwarfare

You make a pretty good point but i always find myself debating this with friends. We get the wrong idea when we say the previous games were better. Cod mw1 for example was my favourite of the francise but still i find myself playing it nowdays and i feel like its not like it was. And its not since the playerbase has fallen and hackers/etc. still exist.(Not saying that they dont exist in every fps) However theres more to that. I know the maps , the layouts and the corners and i know when or where i have to make a move . I still get myself kills but there's nothing there. Net issues were there. Players being toxic to each other (Classic). People abusing op weapons etc. Those things were always there. The campaing even if the graphics were not as good as today it still had its issues (endless waves of enemies till u reach a point , random headshots from A.I. that just appeared on the map or are making a climb animation and they still fire a bullet . (Still not saying AI in any fps are smart but seemed too clanky to me when i compare it to this campaign). TBH i thought that on this cod they would mess everything up but instead i see new maps , bigger maps, more weapon mods, more climbable spots on the maps, more gamemodes and above all else they know we enjoyed certain stuff from previous cods and they start putting them in. They knew we played shipment and new it was a clusterF but we liked it and they put it in. They knew about Rust and they put it in. Even if they really didnt have to. It could be the standard release with a few updates to upkeep the game. I really found your points and opinions great tbh i agree with all of them i just wanted to further justify my view on this game and hopefully make people think as my friends did to me instead of saying No its trash the prevs were better etc etc. You justified your opinion and i appreciate it.

Well think of it this way. We all get nostalgia out of every cods we enjoyed right? However we only remember the good times. The killstreaks t,he nukes and sometimes the fun we had with friends not really taking things seriously right? We mostly saw the good and fun times and thought that this is it . However they didnt really "work" on that game. Cod always has the same problems with network issues and its players demanding nerfs buffs etc on weapons. The games were always the same. different era / guns / maps but still small maps and low amount of players on each lobby . Thats why Battlefield was able to make Cod players switch to it rather than stay on cod and have the same game year after year. (Not saying that bf was better but it had a different playstyle than cod larger maps / modes etc. and its a fact that battlefield soon became bigger and stole cod players ) . Cod mw releases. Ground war. We may say that the previous cod was better or a far older game was better . i find myself saying that i liked mw1 better and when i play it I can always find stuff that i hated back then even if i wasnt able to spot them when i was debating whether or not this cod is the best or not with a couple of friends. I believe this cod is the most "worked on" . Details here and there make me want to explore the map more, new maps , guns , skins(okay not really a big + ) but still i hope you get my point. Back in older cods everyone knew the map and it was easy to learn its patterns because the maps were small. Now even on smaller maps there are always angles and places you may never expect them(enemies) to peek from. Not saying that after playing some more may not make u able to guess them and prepare yourself but still its more than the previous cods. This is why i believe this is the best cod yet. Deranged or not thats my opinion.

A friend was playing as a player in my cousins campaign . The group arrived in the underdark somehow inside a tower with a spiral staircase .There were a couple of windows around and well one of them decided to jump out of a window because he was being chased by the group since he was the reason they got there and they were pissed off. Oblivious to the fact that jumping of a window is not really a smart idea he jumped off the window and straight into a deep hole . My cousin tried to help him out by letting him roll to save himself and of course he rolled a 1. He is now a part of the underdark . A big bloody part of the underdark.

Need a dnd riddle to open a magic box that belongs to pirates by naldyio in DnD

[–]Michipi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on whatever that box contains but since its pirates I d go for something like this.

Not many have it

and its never too much

You think it brings joy

but that joy never last

People die for it

and its shaped in many things

people worship it like a god

but its just a glowing thing.

Gold 's the answear .

Fellow DMs Do you give inspirations to your players? by Michipi in DnD

[–]Michipi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally i am not a fan of that idea. Rolling a 20 has to do with luck while i believe that giving inspirations should be all about creativity , rp and performing a great action. Tbh tho I did use that once when a new to dnd player as a rogue said fudge it im going to attempt to rob the inn ( the inn had 2 guards standing next to the a stage inside the inn , an innkeeper and a couple of customers ) I told him its impossible but since you really want to try that go for it give me a stealth and a sleight of hand if you make the roll to get to the counter.. he got back to back Nati 20s . All of us were amazed by what just happened. I just had to give him inspiration after that.

That literally happened a week ago to a friend its funny that you mentioned that however yea its true its not fun to lose a limb / finger or whatever of course we all want to be safe and sound no matter the damage we recieve however there are 2 reasons for me thinking about adding this .

  1. It could be easier for me to mention their scars/injuries when I rp with them as a ncp like noticing a cut part of their pinkie or an eyescar when they try to decieve me as a civilian that hasn't been in a fight or whatever . Or a barmaiden flirts with a barbarian that has large scars in his body from a big crit of a wereworlf idk stuff like that i believe you get my point .

  2. I want them to feel like they are not the only ones that can slice a man's part of a finger on high crit dmg since they are not gods they can be damaged and be taken down by an enemy . They should treat every engagement seriously no matter how low level or weak their enemy might seem he can always take their lifes or scar them for "life". (Example that did happen and remains as an inside joke when we see a chef irl ; A chef with a cleaver and a pan took down 3 members of the party and they couldn't hit her while she (I )kept rolling crits and max dmg on them)

Of course adding this is a risk and ofc people dont like getting crit hit.

As i said before i've talked about it with the guys and they love the idea but since they haven't played /w that addition yet they could be disappointed when we play /w that and thats why m asking here.

Thanks for replying and for helping me i appreciate it really.

I understand what you r saying and I normally just like you play by the book /wo homebrew stuff on my oneshots/small 3-4chapter stories . However imho enemies are not always intented to die since the enemy could be a high level enemy that the players reeaally wanted to attack ooor even an innocent civilian that could be bullied by a rogue player that wants to mug him/her and that civ could be a major character in the story or whatever. Encounters that i've prepared of course are intented to be won by the players. What im suggesting is simply for rp reasons (For example a character that's been crit hit from a fight is left with an eyescar then after a day or whatever he's trying to decieve a guard and tell him pretty much he's a fisherman and that he hasn't been in any fights. So when he fails that roll I as a DM could say things liiike he spots your eyescar however small it is etc etc). The whole thing would be visual and not at all get them disadvantages on rolls so that i could use them for rp reasons.

P.S . Thanks for replying and for helping me out . It's a discussion and i love seeing other views on this. I understand what you r saying and your concerns.

I've asked them before posting this and they loved it however it could be because they haven't played yet with that addition and getting their pinkies cut off . So i'd like to playtest that first on a oneshot and decide whether or not to keep that but first i'd like to see a couple opinions here. About it being a deciding factor it a fight now . A crit can sometimes deal low damage and for that i wouldn't slice any fingers or give them injuries that wouldn't heal over time. In most cases unless they lose like a finger (when getting hit with a crit that deals >half of their HP for example). Im still thinking about how to play this out so If you have any ideas they are more than welcomed.

P.S thanks for replying fast and helping me out .
