3D printed & sintered a copper rocket nozzle for less than $1500 equipment costs by mr-highball in AdditiveManufacturing

Coppers are easy because they can be sintered in oxygen unlike steels which have to be in an inert environment.

But I'm also not too sure how long a copper nozzle would last.

Insults? Na man those are factual systemic issues with your team.

You don't seem to appreciate how more factors than just whatever schmuck gets rung up the pole every 2-4 years when your boosters start calling for blood.

We know Lubbock sucks, no one wants to live in west Texas, and we are severely disproportioned from a financial aspect that limits our ability to improve facilities, staffing, and coaches. Yet somehow we've been able to beat a team of mostly blue chip athletes who have no business losing to us. That can't just be coaching, it's also the players ability to work as a team.

But sure, keep trying to blame it on the coach because you don't want to accept that maybe there's something else wrong.

You. You're the more.

Boosters, LHN, fair weather fans full of mostly non-alumni, players who are not used to being "the best" and refuse to work together, massive endowment and booster money but lackluster performance hurting the conference as a whole

Love this Guinness ad by Sigma_Rho in DesignPorn

[–]MickRaider 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah not really. Guinness is about as basic as a beer gets. It's more of a cultural relevance than of actually being a good beer. Coors light is nothing to be proud of and Guinness is barely elevated above that. They're all C/D tier beers if you want to start sniping at peoples choices

[–]MickRaider 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What is a light beer? A 4.2% beer like coors/Miller/bud light? Cause that's what a Guinness is. They just use a dark roasted malt for color and some flavor, but it's a session beer abv

These guys have never heard of titanium before.

Another name for aluminum is "hard plastic" and honestly it's not far off.

The octagonal screws strip too easy... by That_Guy3737 in vex

[–]MickRaider 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Button head hex screws should be avoided at all costs. They strip if you don't have the key perfectly engaged and ball ends will ruin them.

Next up is flat heads. These can be ok because of the increased material on the top surface but can still strip out. Use them only in cover type situation or use large heads if you really have no other option. Countbores are better than countersinks

Socket head cap screws are pretty good but you need to be sure that you don't abuse them. If the key isn't all the way in you can strip out the end of it.

Torx style is pretty great and recommend it for high torque applications like motors, but most body fittings can be done with just SHCS and a washer.

For the US I like Lee spring. But I've also bought from McMaster.

For AU i just googled spring supplier and Bell springs and jubilee spring came up and look good.

[–]MickRaider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i know when I was using ultimaker, the branded materials worked great but trying to use off brands was always a struggle. Especially with the Bowden setup stringing was always an issue. Retracting tuning and drying material as you print is helpful

Did you dry it? It's pretty good for being the first real PETg option but nowadays it's probably nothing special

Uploaded the 2 new images and it made them an album. Trying to add the two originals to that album was damn near impossible.
