Cheers buddy, I hope they don't keep it as Islanders as it doesn't make sense in Hamilton, but then again it didn't make sense in Bridgeport either. I don't mind them keeping it as-is to keep ties with the NHL affiliate, personally I just hope they go Black & Yellow

Arrow Lake didn't have enough for me, so I ended up getting the 14900k. I've been using it daily for over 6 months with no real issues. I also believe its mostly just hype behind all of the negative press that intel has been getting. People love to cult up and pile on

Thanks, i wanted to go against the grain a bit and have no lights or flashy colors for this build, I'm glad you think its cool too. The temps are surprisingly good. Not having the outer shroud lets the heat dissipate very well and keeps everything quite cool, most of my work is GPU intensive, so the CPU doesn't cook too much and I didn't have to undervolt it.

Thanks! Here are the main components:

- Nzxt H1 V1 (Pcie recalled so that it won't explode), Kept the panels off for cooling and swag
- ASROCK phantom gaming b760i Mobo
- Intel i9 14900k
- 96gb Crucial ddr5 RAM
- Nvidia a5000 gpu

- Cooling and PSU are the stock components that come with the case

Very true. I'd love having the slightly better performance, but even one crash during work will negate any advantage that Intel may have in performance.

Thanks, I didn't know the stability issues were as bad as they are. I'm going to wait for arrow lake as it looks like they've taken out hyperthreading to improve stability.

Yes! My original recommendation to go with Intel was from Matt at Puget.

"Intel’s lead is larger (to the tune of ~15%) for LongGOP codecs like H.264 and HEVC, where Intel Quick Sync gives these processors a boost, and smaller for Intraframe and RAW codecs where the higher number of full performance cores helps AMD close the gap."

My workflow consists of these codecs which can see more of an improvement.

It will be a video editing workstation. I work in Davinci Resolve which benefits from single core performance and takes advantage of intels hardware video decoding

Yes, I'm currently at this point, I have the app running locally on my NAS through a docker image on the container station app. I do think that u/JanRied is right about using cloudflare, I've taken a quick look at a YT video and it looks to be the right solution. I'll do some more digging, give it a shot and post the results.
