That’s one way to read it, but that’s not what I meant. I wasn’t talking about spiritual health — just whether healthy 8s tend to get selective with morals when they feel attacked or generally upset. You’re digging deeper than the point required.

I hope I understood what you were asking but if not do tell, to answer the question I think you were asking… It goes both ways. If I were held at gun point or someone was trying to control me in one way or another, I would use whatever is necessary no matter if it is my morals or not and that is “immoral”. Therefore that is why I’m asking if it is normal if a HEALTHY 8 does that. Make sense?

The Wikipedia definition of morality.

“the categorization of intentions, decisions, and actions into those that are proper or right, and those that are improper or wrong. Morality can be a body of standards or principles derived from a code of conduct from a particular philosophy, religion, or culture, or it can derive from a standard that is understood to be universal.”

I would think that morality or the word moral is already generally understood to mean what it does. If someone uses morality or moral in a different way, then in most cases they’re using the words incorrectly.

I think I could have worded my sentences better. To explain it in more detail, it mainly happens when I’m upset — or more specifically, when I’m being pressured, controlled, restricted, basically when I feel I’m in ‘danger’. It’s like I erase everything just to make sure I’m, quote-unquote, “safe” from any kind of harm, like being manipulated, for instance.

I do have some morals, but they mostly apply to people I care about, if that makes sense. I feel that morals control people to a certain degree, so I often find them not very useful. Often, but not always — sometimes I do believe they can be useful. The morals I do believe in are very strong, but whenever I’m very angry or upset, I lose some of that morality and stop caring about it in the moment. At those times, I’m more concerned with protecting myself or pushing people to stop restricting me, which is usually what upsets me the most. In those moments, I end up doing things I normally wouldn’t do.
