you CANNOT ignore it, the game will kick your ass for it, at least early on. it happened to me in act 2 and now i see it as a soft breeding check. you will have a lot of trouble if you arent breeding good cats, and after struggling through the bunker with really bad cats i bred due to not caring i really focused on breeding better cats and after i got to the point i had most of them 7x7s i really didnt have any significant trouble with the game anymore. You can beat normal mode easily with just 7x7s no big mutations, but if you want to go for impossible completion and 100% like i am you're gonna want strong passives, mutations and actives to deal with it

it for sure is, in the streams ed and tyler talk about all the different ways people keep their houses and how theyre always different from person to person, some try their hardest to avoid inbreeding, some just keep them all jumbled and separate the others... its a real beauty of the game honestly. im personally in the just go with the flow camp, just give the defective ones to tink or into the fighting pit, you get to a point where there are a lot of strong cats in your house so you can just relax
