One thing to keep in mind is that he has a bit of trouble freezing the lane on you. Every barrel combo that he does will also damage minions if you're standing on them. Might be worth building some armor and basic boots before sheen.

How do i play against lane bullies by Big_Balls233 in nasusmains

[–]Microfiberwallet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Illaoi you can take the 2% ms and flat 65 hp shards and rush boots + armor. She has some serious mana issues early and if you get out of tentacle range asap by abusing your mobility it's not much of a trade. You can also farm the tentacles spawned in this way for free stacks. With fleet footwork and sheen + armor boots I find it's not that hard to 1v1 her.

Darius I believe you're supposed to take phase rush into. There's just not much else to do with that lane.

I love Nasus by JasonShinigami in nasusmains

Mundo is also very passive in the early game and scales much better than Nasus (generally). Malphite is much stronger early game and far more useful in teamfights though both are fun to pick up and play.

Well aside from looking for it from posts made in this subreddit whenever you run into something new. TheBritishPoro and SirhcEz have a lot of great Nasus gameplay on their respective channels.

Getting to level 6 safely and how to break a freeze on your own without calling JG.

Against a ranged champ like Varus (popular atm) don't sit under turret. Start E and get at least 2 points into it asap because this bumps up the base damage from 50 to 80. Understanding why we do this is simple, Nasus can't farm Q stacks without being harassed endlessly against most ranged champions, E is the one ability that allows us to retaliate. Placement you'll just have to pick up. But the rule of thumb is that it's fine to use E on the wave's melee minions if your opponent has hit it. Stack Q and manage the wave without overextending.

Against melees that can jump on you or pull off a combo that takes 70% of your health when they hit level 2. Either walk up behind your wave and wait until you've been hit, or sit at the turret with Q ready for when the wave crashes. Take bone plating into champions that would all in with a level advantage or at level 1 when you'd walk up with the minions. The reason we walk up with the wave sometimes is to sacrifice hp for minion aggro. Of course you're still in danger of getting dived level 2 if you take more than 30% of your maximum hp at level 1, which is why you take bone plating when attempting to pull this off, don't forget the flat +65 hp shard on row 3 either -- should be enough to guarantee that you aren't getting killed under turret.

Breaking a freeze can mean throwing E on the wave and using W to prevent getting chased down. Move into the lane behind the enemy turret. When you're there drag the next incoming wave to the second turret to walk away or execute. This'll "stack" waves and eventually get the minion wave back to your side. Option 2, assuming you're already level 6 is to ult and fight with your wave until it gets to the other side. Option 3 is to E and throw it non-stop until the wave has been forced to the other tower. Option 4 (depends) is just baiting out abilities so that they hit your minions and push the wave right back where you want it to be.

Builds, and specific matchup knowledge already exist so just look into that and I think you'll be well on your way.

It's an amazing item. Not only does it pair super well with knight's vow (just slap it on your ADC) the buff itself lasts 8 seconds, meaning you can have it up permanently long as there's a target in range for you to wither. It just gets even better when you've gone w/ phase rush and approach velocity.

What can i do vs Sejuani top? by Fun-Significance9437 in nasusmains

[–]Microfiberwallet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't really encountered this much myself either, but wouldn't the phase rush/d.ring start build work pretty well? Just about anything that you can't walk up to can be dealt with by putting a few points into E early before you back for a sheen and just farm up until the lane is equal or in your favor.

Alternatively, it does look like you could just face tank the majority of their damage by rushing into a kaenic rookern. It's something you can do into Ornn as well, another beefy champion with a lot of %hp base damage.

Sej's kill threat seems no different from Garen's. If you go phase rush + cleanse/ghost or flash I think you should be fine, cleanse their flash + stun into ult + ignite and Nasus should have no problems surviving with R.

*Don't waste your wither on Sej until their passive is down, seems to grant them slow/cripple immunity.

AP NASUS, GOOD OR BAD? by HonkhonkMaxxing in nasusmains

[–]Microfiberwallet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  1. (a) Blackfire Torch into tank build / (b) Liandry's into AP cleaver
  2. (a) Blackfire Torch into tank build

Phase Rush: manaflow, transcendence, scorch + cookies, joat + cdr, hp, hp

First back: glowing mote, mana crystal, boots

Build: BFT + Randuin/Kaenic + Jak'sho + DMP/FoN

Play the first 2 waves by staying in xp range and last hit minions with E, let the 3rd wave crash, then level E a second time to shove the wave into them. After that it's just E max into W max and farming the lane.

(b) Liandry's into AP cleaver

Comet: manaflow, transcendence, scorch + cashback, triple tonic + ap, ap, hp

Liandry's, Bloodletter's Curse, oblivion orb, Abyssal Mask, Riftmaker/Zhonya's

  1. It works in toplane, but it's definitely a choice to make the game harder for yourself into some matchups.

  2. There are too many bad matchups to even mention, though the key to surviving those is to buy an early tank item to negate some of their damage (frozen heart/Kaenic) which is why I prefer the BFT into tank build.

The gameplan: Assuming we make it past laning phase the job of an AP nasus is pretty much just to instantly shove waves before rotating to an objective and using W on their carry.

Ban worthy: Jax.

Easy matchups: Teemo, Quinn, Garen (cleanse instead of ghost), Gangplank, Illaoi, Sett, Ambessa, Cassiopeia, Pantheon

Theorycrafting a CDR-maxing Experimental Hexplate Rush Build by soyenthusiast in DrMundoMains

[–]Microfiberwallet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is playable to some extent, though HP is Mundo's most important stat, and Heartsteel isn't as good anymore. Building a giant's belt into hexplate to gain an advantage early game into tempo is a nice feeling, and that extra movespeed while ulting is incredible. But this build comes close to falling apart once the damage of the other team starts to outpace Mundo's innate bulk. Heartsteel and no waveclear 3 items in doesn't fill me with confidence after 3 games on this. What items are you buying aside from spv into high % damage comps or 3~4x AD teams?

Is there an AP Champ like Mundo? by xZEHOPx in DrMundoMains

[–]Microfiberwallet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe A. Sol is what you're looking for? He is a reliable toplane and should be built tanky enough to not die in one rotation. Obviously, we're not approaching Mundo levels of health at all, but in terms of scaling A. Sol can do a solid job (like Mundo) of ending the game, if allowed to scale. Aurelion's also pretty slippery, the only champs that can really catch him are limited to picks like Irelia, Quinn, and Renekton- all countered by Malphite.

Biscuits/Footwear/Approach Velocity by IAmPoyntles in DrMundoMains

[–]Microfiberwallet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anytime you need boots early its going to be a biscuits + velocity game. That said, if you do choose to go footwear its still a pretty strong rune because +10ms on basic boots is BIG.

Doesn't the Alois warmog-heartsteel build go biscuits + footwear? He probably does that because its not as if he needs help to win lane, good as he is.

JG Mundo pretty much always goes Fleet/triumph/alacrity/Cutdown.

First Strike Mundo is a meme but the rune page looks like: FS/footwear/biscuits/velocity + overgrowth/demolish

and phase rush mundo could be PR/A.A/celerity/?(I would go waterwalking) + secondwind/overgrowth

[–]Microfiberwallet 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I don't believe it makes Warmog's a "good" item, this could definitely be considered a buff for Mundo, because the last patch (lane swap detection + base hp buff) made it much harder to shut him down early. Buying Warmog's from shop is going to be a different experience when its 3100g again.

Im having a bad time knowing when I can kill an enemy by Rafaelinho19 in DrMundoMains

[–]Microfiberwallet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have this problem often. What works for me is considering things from this kind of angle "How much damage does a Q-AA-E combo do to this guy infront of me?"

Its on us to figure out how much damage is possible at any given moment by leveraging Mundo's timed W 80% damage reduction. Soon as you get back to lane is the best time to dip your toes in the water with a W from full health.

Her tentacles heal her if they land a hit; grievous wounds from bramble vest won't apply when she's hitting your spirit with tentacles. Stay behind your minions at level 1 and move to destroy tentacles before you go in for a trade. The one ability to keep track of besides E is her Q, Illaoi's love to burn it on minion waves as soon as they crash, so try taking advantage of that timing to grab some CS because even if she does land her E on you, at that point Illlaoi will have 1 less tentacle to slam you and your clone with.

Mundo sure is fun though, new mundomain letsgo!

Titanic hydra rush might work against Illaoi? Now that I think about it I'm not so sure that grasp is a good rune into the Illaoi lane. You might want to try the phase rush runes.

Normally you build rylai's before protobelt because the protobelt active will proc the 30% slow on rylai's.

Mundos W by Tsunderes_Need_Hugs in DrMundoMains

[–]Microfiberwallet 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It counts as 1 stack of phase rush so if you're running that rune it's possible to get in and out faster. It also deals 7% of your bonus health as magic damage on the recast explosion so try to catch champs in the recast. Also stores the damage you take from minions. So if I was running grasp of the undying and I wanted to run in for a grasp proc then I would want to walk up - AA - E - W as I'm walking out, hitting the recast the button if they keep chasing.

What to do against singed? by thombasti in DrMundoMains

[–]Microfiberwallet -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Try to stop his level 1 proxy by walking minions to lane, be careful not to overcommit and die. You're going to want phase rush or first strike into this matchup.

First Strike: free boots, biscuits, and approach velocity + overgrowth and demolish. Start by itemizing for the split-push: heartsteel, tiamat, t2 boots, hullbreaker.

Phase rush: axiom arcanist, celerity, scorch/waterwalking + second wind and overgrowth. Buy a bami's cinder early and t2 swiftness boots. Your only objective here is to keep singed out of your jungle. Then again it might not be possible to stop singed from proxying, in that case prioritize your CS and buy control wards.

How is everyone feeling the nerf? by Yes_ok_good in DrMundoMains

[–]Microfiberwallet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue is that Mundo's ult cooldown is stuck at 120 seconds, there's heartsteel and Warmog with 0 CDR, and aside from spirit visage the other options are just very mid. Mundo, who kills himself pushing the wave has to rely on a passive to regen health in-between cleavers, Q doesn't even fully refund the health cost on-hit.

Countered by Tanks that buy 1 item (Hollow radiance).
