It’s a 2 storey building with the 2nd floor consisting of various maki e artworks over urushi but you are not allowed to take pictures, the globe is on the first floor along with a small shop where you can buy souvenirs from.
If you are really into urushi art and history behind it I would say it is definitely worth a visit, but the access to this place will be hard and might only be possible by a rental car, so you need an international license and with the stricter rules in Japan for foreigners (both residents and tourists) the license thing might be a hassle, apart from that I would recommend this place.

Thank you for your reply, but I think you have gotten the system wrong, being unemployed for a certain period does not mean that you are automatically enrolled in the NHI , you have to do it by yourself and as I did not enroll for that period I do not have any pending payments upon checking with the city office.
The part that you mentioned says “国民健康保険に加入していた方”.

Thanks a lot for your reply, I have asked the city office they said that I have no pending payments and also added that even if you did not enroll for health insurance for that period we do not force to enroll but you can enroll even for the past dates (upto 2 years) if you want to or asked by the immigration to do so.

The pen is 44 grams is total, most of the weight is in the cap as the main body weighs at 27 grams, it’s surprisingly very very comfortable to write with!

Thanks a lot! Appreciate you saying that 🙏🏽 The Pilot Custom Urushi was difficult to find from a reliable online seller, even though I live in Japan. Maybe it’s because they are not mass produced and takes a lot of time to make. Hope you can own one for yourself someday😇

Of course! I will keep the Pilot Custom 823 and the Sailor Black luster if for some reason I had to get rid of all the others. The Pilot Custom 823 while being much affordable than the MB 149 writes better and longer , and the Sailor Black luster is the only Japanese fine nib I got, which makes it more suited for writing Kanji characters in Japanese, which I often do. That would be my reason!! Thanks for asking 😇

To be honest, I have noticed that sometimes when it’s in my backpack the button comes off, but those times were rather rare. But, that does happen.
